That’s actually one of the benefits of this setup...

Yes, your OFW/Sysnand can be upgraded to 14.0.0 and it will not break your Emunand. Sysnand and Emunand are essentially two separate systems. Best practice is to just use the regular Nintendo Upgrade service since OFW should be squeaky clean anyway. Your Emunand will remain where it is and continue to run on 13 without interfering. Enjoy!
Very cool. So the blown fuses don't negatively impact emuNAND booting then? Nice!

Do custom themes still works on Atmosphere 1.3.0? Recently updated everything, including to the pre-release Atmosphere, but my theme crashed it after turn it on. I deleted the theme folder inside 'contents' and it started normally, but when I reinstalled the theme trought the Homebrew app, it crashed after restart the console.

It will likely take a bit for the NX Themes guys to compensate for the breaking changes. This is normal actually. Just leave themes off for now. They will be back soon.

Hekate bypasses the fuse algorithm altogether.

BTW SciresM just announced that Atmosphere is in pre-release. There are folks testing it right now. Hekate and Sigpatches have all been updated for 14.0.0 as well so even if there are some lingering issues we're very close to them being resolved by team ReSwitched anyway.

Use at your own risk:

Very cool. I imagine the only rush to go to 14 is if a game requires it. I'm not chasing any new releases (maybe sans the new Kirby game), so I ought to be fine.

I'm doing a test run now but I don't believe the new Kirby requires it at this time anyway so yeah...you're right on target.

Another question regarding upgrade from my V1 to a new OLED Switch.

On the V1 Switch I currently have two modes: one emunand with cfw and the sysnand, completely cfw free. On the sysnand I want to play online, so I want to avoid the cfw here as completely as possible. Nevertheless, I would like to have the possibility to extract and edit game saves in the sysnand as well (without cfw). This works wonderfully with TegraRCMGui, by not loading an ordinary payload from the RCM, but selecting the mode eMMC rawNAND (DANGEROUS). This allows the sysnand to be mounted as a drive on a Windows PC and the save games can simply be copied out (and later edited and pasted back into the sysnand).

Is there a similar possibility on the OLED Switch? The RCM is unfortunately no longer available here.

Last edited by MSco,
is AutoRCM turned on in Hekate?

It sure is binkinator.

Try holding the power button for 15 seconds
releasing power
and then tapping power once more to turn it back on.

That did the trick nicely.

remove the sd card and see if it will boot normally. This will remove the sd card variable from the equation…

Let’s see where we are firstmand take it from there…

It's not looking too good on my end. Whenever I attempt to boot into Atmosphere, I'm getting the following error message:

A fatal error occurred when running Atmosphere.
Program ID: 010041544d530000
Error Desc: std::abort::() called (0xffe)

Failed to save report to the SD card! (001b5802)

Press POWER to reboot

What's weird though is whenever I insert my SD Card into my Windows PC, I can clearly see all my files. See HERE for evidence.

It would be a REAL bummer if I had to reset and start again. If that's what it'll take though, I guess I'm left with no choice.

Any suggestions from yourself @binkinator. Thanks again man!

One more question that follows on from here:

What is the safest setup that I can go online with and use JKSV to extract and inject savegames?

Should I create a second emunand with atmosphere and nothing else than JKSV? How would I be able to update this firmware? Only with daybreak? Or could I update this firmware in the normal way over the system settings?

It sure is binkinator.

AutoRCM purposefully blackscreen’s your switch and makes it look dead until you feed it a payload. If yiu ever want to “just boot” without any Hekate/Atmosphere/etc, just turn off AutoRCM

That did the trick nicely.

Please post your /atmosphere/config/system_settings.ini. I think you might have removed a ; where we don’t need to.

I have a V2 (Mariko) Switch with a mod chip installed. It's set up to have a SysNAND (CFW free) and an EmuNAND (for the CFW).

My first question is about copying the contents of my SD card to another SD card. 256 GB is not enough space for my game library and I was thinking about getting another card that I can switch to or to get a bigger SD card. I've heard that I can't just copy the contents of my SD card to another SD card just like that because I'm using EmuNAND. Is this true and if so, what do I need to do to copy/move the contents of my SD card to another SD card?

My other question is about how to update my CFW firmware. I'm currently using Atmosphere CFW 11.0.1 | AMS M.18.1 | E. I've seen tutorials for updating the CFW, but they are written for V1 switches with (auto)RCM. Does anyone know where I can find an easy-to-understand tutorial on how to update my CFW on a (V2) Switch that uses a modchip?

You can get to your SysNand in a different fashion altogether. This involves using your PC but is the same effect of emmc raw nand:

safest way is to skip this and use https://github.com/eliboa/NxNandManager

Doing homebrew on an internet connected CFW enabled emunand is safer than pirating but less safe than never going online with a hacked switch, ever (ambiguous on purpose because we don’t know for sure.) You might be perfectly safe with this method today, and tomorrow you’re screwed. I personally would’t risk it, but that’s just me. YMMV

How would I be able to update this firmware? Only with daybreak? Or could I update this firmware in the normal way over the system settings?

if you were to do this then yes, the appropriate way to upgrade the emunand would be via daybreak.

Use something that will clone the entire drive (including hidden partitions) and not just one filesystem. I use Mini tool partition wizard. Once you clone your smaller sd card onto a larger one, simply go back to your FAT32 partition and resize it. Shutdown mini tool so you can properly unsound your sd cards and you’re done!

https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy has options for just about every permutation. Since you are fairly down rev you will want to go here first: https://rentry.org/MigrateToAtmosphere1_0_0

please help me, i've been trying to find a tutorial for my situation for ages!

I have an original Switch with SX OS via their dongle. I also use emuNAND and have done this since the first few months of the TX pro being released. Now that it's not being updated anymore, i would like to transition to Atmosphere. Can someone please point me to an up to date guide that will show me how to do this?

SX OS is on V3.1.0
emuNAND is on 10.2.0
OFW is on something really low if that matters

many thanks!
