Recently dug out an old SP with a smashed screen, but I'm new to the hardware tinkering side of things. There's lots of different how-tos out there, but which ones are the good ones? What screen should I get - preferably one that's cheaper, but not the mega-cheap sludge that you find out there, anything to be careful of ect.?

If I need a soldering kit, it would be cheaper at that point to replace it or get repairs elsewhere, so do I need one?
