So I added a Skyrim switch mod folder that I was supposed to add on the base of my SD card, but Now I can't seem to find the save data for SMT V. What happened and is it possible for me to get my Save game back?

Can someone please point me in the right direction on how to go online with switch while still keeping my emuMMC. I’m pretty sure I’m not banned but also need to find that out. I want to be able to go online via OFW not CFW/emuMMC

Probably a too little too late question but do you back up your saves with a save manager like checkpoint or JKSV? Even if you don't currently, it's worth installing one of them, to see if they see ANY save data for SMT V, or any other games for that matter...Maybe it will see something for some reason the current game dosen't? I'm assuming you're loading SMT V, and you see no saves?

I personally think this is so risky. So many times, people don't know why they are banned. I'm not endorsing this, and the result could still be a ban, but the closest thing I can tell you is (You try this at your own demise, this is not advice):
  • Make sure 90DNS or incognito is setup for the emuMMC side
  • I would make sure after that no SD card in in your slot, that has emuMMC and or home-brew stuff on it....(People say this dosen't matter but I wouldn't take the risk
  • If you need an SD card, make sure its a clean SD card, that has never been used for ANY hacking or modding and was prepared from your sysNAND/sysMMC side
  • With the Dirty SD card OUT, boot REGULARLY to your sysNAND, do not load your sysNAND/sysMMC from Hekate just let it boot normal
  • Pray you don't get banned when you go online....and really even then, I think you could still get banned....
My suggestion. Keep your mod switch, and another clean switch separate. Keep a clean non moded switch for online use, keep a mod switch for offline usage with emuMMC, that has 90DNS or Incognito turned on on the emuMMC side (I even turn on airplane mode with those on, because I'm paranoid), and enjoy solitary gaming on the moded switch only. It's just cleaner. That would be my advice.

I already updated the emuMMC as I went through downloading the new versions of atmosphere and Hekate?

Would this link be for me? I haven't even booted up the game for the first time, because it keeps says that I need to update my system.

System version: 11.0.1|AMS 1.2.4|E
Yes, that's the link to the sig patches, that's the only way you're going to be able to boot tinwoo or tinfoil in a way to install games. You might also want to explore the world of dumping your backup to an XCI. You could use the the nxdumptool for that, dump it to an XCI, and then patch it with the "Ninty switch cleaner and builder" [NSC_BUILDER] https://github.com/julesontheroad/NSC_BUILDER

You can patch the XCI to only look for a certain firmware level. I've had good luck with that, and it works for me 99% of the time, and you probably won't need to upgrade your firmware if you do that.

There are alot of dump guides out there. If you make it as far as dumping an XCI you can patch it with these instructions I put at this link:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-noob-paradise-ask-questions-here.488277/post-9664851

Good luck and GodSpeed.

PS - Since you only will have 1 XCI go into multipack mode, just drop the one file and then follow the rest of the instructions remember to choose you want to patch the XCI to a certain FW level.

One more note, based on your first comment, you upgraded Hekate and Atmosphere, however you still could update your formware more, on the emuMMC, but that's your choice. So to be clear here are your 2 or 3 routes:

  • Update your emuMMC with daylight, to your preferred Switch FW level, it dosen't have to be 13.1.0 (Google is your friend)
OR

  • Install the SIGpatches THEN Install the game with tinwoo and or tinfoil) to your SD card, and see if it asks for a firmware upgrade, if it dosen't you're golden, but if it does and for some reason YOU DON'T want to upgrade your formware, then you could try...

  • Dumping the XCI (Or use your imagination in regards to magical XCI's through the digital matrix), and then patching the XCI with NSC_BUILDER.
There's 3 possible options for you.

You need sigpatches... If you don't know which to use, then just use both sets of:
https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releases
That worked, thank you. hopefully when I have to update software I will remember everything I need to update. Now one more question. How do I add cheats? I have Edizon SE, Breeze, Cheats Updater. I knew where to put the files when I used SXOS, but I don't with my new configuration.

Okay, I read over your message a few times and I think, I understand most of it some of it. My goals are to dance between homebrew software; haven't used any of that and to play my legit cartridges from EmuMMC and semi-stock only to access Pokemon Home with legit pokemon once in a while. I would like the feature of backing up my save file as well ~checkpoint. With all of that being said, I haven't touched any homebrew software yet nor connected wifi to my switch. With those goals in mind, which method would you recommend for me?

To me, the best decision would be upgrade my emuMMC to the lowest possible firmware version accepted for Diamond and Pearl remakes which I thought was 11.0.0, but I am still reports of 12.0.0 and 13.0.0 being required to play it.

Would installing SIGpatches with tinwoo or tinfoil put me at risk of a getting a ban? Same with dumping my cartridge with NSC_builder? Both the SIGpatches with tinwoo/tinfoil and dumping my cartridge would NOT work with semi-stock/sysnand?

Thank you for dealing with all of my questions. I appreciate it.

Hey all, wondering if anyone can help.
I have a switch that I hacked quite a while ago but can't remember exactly what I did. Now I'm curious if I should be doing anything else to it (to be up to date/prevebt bricking ect)

I've recently updated to 12.1.0/AMS M.19.5/S
The S at the end tells me in using sysnand and have been using this to play NSPs from tinfoil shops. I try to always keep my switch in standby mode when not in use but when I do need to turn off and on again, I have auto RCM enabled so need to force a payload using PC.
I force the fusee payload which boots me right into atmosphere.

does everything above sound like I've done this right and safe or do I need to change/add some more things? Do I need emunand or is it too late for this now as I've updated since first modding?

Can someone show/tell me how I should go about updating my OFW cuz I’m always afraid of burning fuses/cart not working anymore. My OFW is still on 9.0 while my CFW is on 12.1

Hello everybody ,

I migrated from Sx Os to atmosphere two or three weeks ago. I met some problems here and there but I finally managed to transfer my emunand .

Today the problem is that I can't install NSP. When I try with Goldleaf I get this error message.

Error: 2356-0009 (0x1364)

Module: Goldleaf (356)

Description: PFS0 not valid (NSP)

I tried several things to fix this:

  • Since I was trying to install a split nsp ( I formatted my sd in fat32), I tried with a whole nsp ( less than 4Go) .
  • I tried to use Awoo installer to install the same nsp.
  • I tried to replace the sigpatches I had (when I migrated I took the ones from Hekate, so I tried with the ones from fusee).
  • I tried to boot Atmosphere without going through a chainloading with Hekate.
  • I made fix archive bit with Hekate before each new attempt to be sure that there is no problem at this level (I use a macbook).
Nothing worked.

I'm a bit desperate. I spend hours and hours ( and days ) looking for informations and trying solutions but I have the impression that I will never manage to make this work. With sx os everything was so easy, I never faced such problems. Now I can't play any game.

Here is some info about my setup:

  • I have a Switch Erista
  • I have a sd recently converted to Fat32
  • I use a macbook.
  • I can't do a usb installation (I can't get it to work on my macbook, nor on a vm: I found it too complicated)
  • I have, normally, the last sigpatches ( when I migrated I took the ones from Hekate . Then I tried the ones from fusee by replacing the corresponding folder on the sd).
  • Firmware : 10. something
  • When I migrated I used sd setup (with the recommended version)

in the itotaljustice page the files Hekate.zip & fusee.zip ARE EXACTLY THE SAME, both exist because in the past wasn't the same, but today are identical.

try the sigpatches from https://gbatemp.net/threads/sigpatches-for-atmosphere-hekate-fss0-fusee-package3.571543 and please try to read the instructions, they are very clear and if you follow well all will be going to work.

try to make a backup of your ATMOSPHERE, BOOTLOADER, SEPT folders from the ROOT OF YOUR SD, then delete them and copy NEWS from the ones just downloaded from the OFFICIAL GitHubs. copy again the sigpaches from the thread above, test everything and as all is working, reinstall all your sysmodules, mods, cheats and themes.

I can't find a folder named sept in my SD card. Where can you find it?
I found the official github version for atmosphere. However I don't see on which github page I could find just bootloader and sept?

Sorry if my questions seem a bit silly! Thank you already for guiding me.

The SEPT folder WAS part of Atmosphere long time ago (ha ha ha) but some people still have it on his SDs and that can cause problems. that is why ask for backup AND DELETE, if you copy the contents of the new atmosphere zip file to root of SD all will be good.

So I am thinking/about to hack my switch and I have two main questions.

1: When I checked it using 'Is My Switch Patched' It said it was possibly patched. My question is that what happens if I try it and the switch is patched? Will it just not work or will it do something worse, like frying the system?

2: If it does work and I hacked my switch, is there any way to 'turn it off' and make it feel like a normal, unhacked switch? I don't exactly feel comfortable with the hacks on all of the time.

Thank you!

Okay I understand better what is sept folder ! Thank you again for your reply!

I deleted the atmosphere folder, and put the one from the official github back instead. Then I copied and pasted the sigpatches from the link you gave me before, in the corresponding places ( in atmosphere and in bootloder).

But it didn't work. It's always the same error message.

I really don't understand why it doesn't work.
Do you have any suggestions for my problem? I'm sorry to bother you but I really don't know what to do

Yes you could upgrade your emuMMC to the accepted firmware With daylight. There is always the risk of a ban. If you just installed the sigpatches for your emiMMC side you should be okay. You could then install the game on the sd card on the emuMMC side, with tinfoil or tin woo. And you could use JKSV or checkpoint to manage your saves in the emuMMC in home brew. Remember put your switch in airplane Mode on the emuMMC and install incognito or 90DNS so the you emiMMC never talks to ninty servers. You should be relatively safe at that point.

Do I need to have the game installed before using the SIGpatches? As I haven't been able to install the game, because my system isn't up to date yet. I wanted to try the SIGpatches, but my firmware isn't updated high enough for this SIGpatches. Could I/should I backup my files and drop the SIGpatches onto my SD card? How do I know if this latest SIGpatches will even work for me? These are user submitted. Isn't that a bit dangerous? There is also this resource, but that seems a bit old compared to the release of the remakes of Diamond and Pearl.

Recap:
-Does BDSP needs to be installed before installing SIGpatches?
-My update doesn't match the latest SIGpatches's version
-Back up first; Can I just drop the SIGpatches onto my SD and try it?
-Are these user submitted SIGpatches a bit dangerous? That's what it says in the OP of SIGpatch thread...
-Is this resource up to date even though it was 21 days ago? It won't help me?

Install Process of SIGpatch:
-Download zip file of SIGpatches
-Backup atmosphere & bootloader
-Merge the contents of the zip of SIGpatches to the root of SD card
-Restart Switch & pray
-Install DBSP with winfoil or tinwoo ~the cartridge wouldn't be needed anymore?

Question:
-I wouldn't be able to use this installed game with semi-stock to access Pokemon Home?

System version: 11.0.1|AMS 1.2.4|E
SIGpatches Only 13.1.0 Atmos 1.2.4 Hekate 5.6.5.zip

The SEPT folder WAS part of Atmosphere long time ago (ha ha ha) but some people still have it on his SDs and that can cause problems. that is why ask for backup AND DELETE, if you copy the contents of the new atmosphere zip file to root of SD all will be good.
Do you mind if I ping you as well as you uploaded the SIGpatches that I am referring to?
