Can someone please help me out so I can recover my switch. Should I reformat my SD card and then try to boot it? When I swapped over the new(?) Boot file on my other SD card it somewhat booted but I got a black screen after the payload loaded. I really don't want to send my unit to someone to fix if I can do it myself

Hello! I hope this isn't a bother, I've been searching up and down threads for 2 days now and I can't get a clear answer, but I'm playing on a (legit bought) copy of ACNH 2.0 with the DLC. I tried to backup and edit my save with JKSV and NHSE but when I went to overwrite the file, none of the changes I made showed up. I'm updated to all the latest versions of atmosphere and hekate and nhse...does it just not work with ACNH 2.0 yet? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help in advance! :)

Shouldn't it exist and why?
So all the NPS and XCI games that install with Tinwoo or other apps?
Console hacking is also a form of piracy,if you were referring to that in the previous post.
I don't know if you were around during the 3DS scene but there was an app called Freeshop which took advantage of the fact that any Nintendo 3DS can download content from Nintendo's CDN (Content Distribution Network) which hosts all content found on the eShop. Because of this, piracy was made way too convenient and users weren't encouraged to make backups of 3DS games. So when Nintendo finally fixed their CDN and patched out Freeshop, not only were many games no longer available to pirate but users were too stupid to normally install pirated games. This problem doesn't exist on the Switch either but as an alternative, people hosted Google Drives full of games that caused Google to ramp up their security effectively killing that method as well. The point is piracy is never supposed to be that simple or easy because as soon as it is, it will be taken away just as quickly. In order for piracy to survive, it must be made difficult to attain so that way it is equally hard for the one responsible for shutting it down to not shut it down as quickly. It also makes users even more noob-like than necessary which is never good in any scene.

And to your other question, yes you can install both .NSP and .XCI files with TinWoo Installer or other apps similar to it.

hi, I tried to install tinfoil when I boot atmosphere true hekate - launch - emunand. but it doesn't works. when I start directly atmosphere over fusee it works. Did I made some setting wrong in hekate? I would prefer to start over hekate.
I highly recommend switching to using TinWoo Installer instead. Its what I personally use and I have never had any issues while using it.
So I just updated to 11.0. 0 (exfat) on my cfw but now I can't boot my console up. After it installed/updated I clicked on restart now. How do I stop my console from keep looping the logo? When I plug it in my laptop to load the payload it boots the logo like normal but I can't get past it :( I need help to get my console working again.
Well you didn't tell us what CFW you're even using or how you updated your firmware so its hard to provide help when you're still missing details.
Hi I've bought a used switch. My old one isn't in the best condition so I'm selling that one.

If I simply delete my nand and the old keys can I rehack. Then install the game tickets only??? The games are already in the raw folder I think but are they linked via the keys or is it just the ticket that's linked?

Also I've made backups of saves but would these copy over?
No because the games installed within that Nintendo folder is tied to that console; trying to move or merge the contents of that Nintendo folder to another will not work. As for save data, that is stored within the internal memory so you would need to either dump and restore them to the new console or directly transfer them with official tools.

Well I have the forbidden S* cfw that can't be talked about here. I added the 11.0.0 to it I opened the updater homebrew and chose it. I clicked on 11.0.0(exfat) then updated like normal (I agree, yes update etc - whatever it says to continue to update). So when I was done, I clicked the restart/reboot now but it never rebooted so I held the power button for about 15 seconds to shut it off then I tried to turn the console back on via the PC and the payload. I get it to boot and I see the screen but it doesn't go pass it. I even replaced my other SD card with the latest boot but that one goes to the screen once but never boots up. I was thinking I may have to reformat my SD cart and just put the Nintendo folder and boot file to see if that'll work 🤞 but honestly don't know

Well I'm not suggesting this because its the 'forbidden' CFW but seeing as its never going to get any more updates, its probably time to switch to using Atmosphere. It is the overall better CFW anyways and you will need to start using it eventually since as more games come out, the higher the firmware they will require.

ok so I managed to get my switch working again and just put Atmosphere on it. Now to try and get back to my other cfw so I can multiboot my console and have s*, atmosphere and Linux (?) - Whatever is the one that can run all of the emulators with no issues.

I'm wanting to dual/triple boot my switch between Atmosphere and Linux for RetroPie. can I get a tutorial link on how to dual/tripe boot so this way I can no longer have to use my laptop and just have the 3 portions to swap between them when I want.
Also, since I managed to get my switch back. I don't know if all of my saves got backed up. If I add my Nintendo folder back to my SD card, would my saves be there? Mind you I think the last time I backed up my saves is when I went to 9 or 10 cfw. I didn't back them up in the last month but again I haven't played/ touched my switch in months 😂

👌 maybe i explained myself wrong,i meant NPS and XCI files are not always pirated game files and you use Tinwoo or other apps to install them.
For example, since i also have a PS Vita Slim, I use PKGj and download and install the games directly,or NPS Browser and NoPaystation, not because i like to be a pirate but, because i don't have a lot of money to spend on digital games that maybe i can lose for a console problem.

Is it safe to turn off airplane mode, register a wifi connection, and download patch data for physical games on Switch? I pretty much only use my hacked switch for Checkpoint, and have a non-hacked one as well. I was just wondering if patching games without being banned is somehow possible, and if so what steps need to be taken.

Oh yes, homebrew applications and other tools can be packaged and installed as .NSP files. There are no tools to repackage files as .XCI since SX OS is the only CFW that supports mounting them and installing .XCI files achieves the same effect as installing .NSP file.
Is there a tegrarcm alternative for mariko units? I just want to get newest firmware on my switch by SD card or anything because I can't launch it anymore.
TegraRCM doesn't work on Mariko units because it uses the Fusee Gelee exploit which is patched on those consoles.

There is always a risk of a ban when going online with a hacked console.

Can someone show a noob how to use the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond cheats on a newly hacked Switch
This thread has a first time setup section that you can read.
I guess the REAL big question I have is does getting a console banned prevent you from downloading update data for both switch firmware and game software?
There are many different types of bans on the Nintendo Switch but the most common one prevents downloading game updates from Nintendo's servers.

Hi.

I've never updated my system firmware since modding my switch, and wanted to understand things around that. (I'm on 12.1)

Do I have to update my sysnand in order to use that update for the emunand? Or is there a way to update the emunand from update files somewhere instead?

emuMMC and sysMMC operate independently of one another. The only thing they share is the hardware they run on. To put it another way, emuMMC is like having a second console on your SD card.

Yes I understand.
It's when I looked at how to update the system (mainly I'm considering updating to v.13) for my emunand, I saw things around using the sysnand for it. But I was wondering if it's possible to just update the emunand without going back to the sysnand and updating it.

Like using files from somewhere online, in example, rather than copying it over from the sysnand, if that's how it works.
I've never used daybreak or anything, so I'm just not familiar how it all works.

I use my emunand completely offline, so I can't just update it normally.
