I mostly did it because that specific version ran at 60fps, guess I will just try to make the dreamcast version run at 60fps and widescreen with cheats.

I meant more overclock that is impossible in V1 or that can damage that specific model for long periods of time.
You absolutely can use more overclock that's what horizon OC is for it's to do that safely and maximize the potential of your Nintendo switch it doesn't matter if you have a V1 or a V2 I have a V1 right now and mine is fine it doesn't overheat and nothing goes wrong with it and it's overclocked

I wanted to ask your thoughts in regards to Adventure 2 vs Adventure 2 Battle. I know Battle has both its ups and downs but I wouldn't really know if it's worth getting Battle on my Switch, besides the "!" mark for Rouge and Knuckles

As a general point get the Gamecube game for multiplayer and the Dreamcast game for single player. The Dreamcast game has stuff you can unlock for the Chao Garden with cheat codes.

Is online multiplayer implemented into Nagas port?
Or pretendo or dolphin community server stuff. And if not is it planned for future?

Like mario kart wii or Cod MW3 which has spec ops mode locked behind online multiplayer.
(I played 2 levels with black monday & sub level and it was technically “playable” but slugish and slow at 1700mhz but with dynamic stuff so im curious what static map does like Cod Black Ops Zombies which performs better then campaign)
both Cods benefit from CPU OC

I’ve just run some more tests: a hard drive that wasn't recognized in FAT32 or NTFS still isn't recognized in exFAT. However, DBI recognizes the hard drives perfectly well, so the issue lies with Dolphin-NX rather than the drives themselves. Some drives are recognized while others aren't; there must be a problem with how certain USB hard drives are detected.

Small bugs

- If the Steam Grid ID is not entered correctly, there's no way to change it. I had to edit it in the config file.
- It's not possible to download a new cover if there's already one.
- There's no way to enable Cheat Engine globally; it has to be enabled for every game individually. (Intentional?)

Could you add the Wiimote's accelerometer and gyroscope to the mapping options? Disabling the accelerometer's Forward and Backward mappings would keep the Wiimote pointer from going off-screen and allow the right stick to reach the entire screen in handheld mode.
Perhaps also add options like IR/Total Pitch, IR/Total Yaw, and IR/Relative Input, which are used to adjust this. I think IR/Relative Input must be enabled for this configuration.

Thanks for making this Dolphin port.

I'm really impressed with how well the motion controls and pointer have been adapted. I don't know why nobody else has mentioned it yet?, but you really nailed it.

Compared to Tico, I'd say CPU performance feels very similar, but the GPU seems to have more headroom. Not enough* to run at 2x resolution, but enough to try things like 4x MSAA together with Sharp Bilinear (I'd recommend everyone give the latter a try).

Thanks for this very detailled feedback, i'll take at look at all of this for the next release

About performance, exactly what i noticed too, this newer nvk driver i worked on get around 10-15% more performance compared to the previous one, Tico core should update to it soon

WTF has Steam have to do with Dolphin?

If you mean the report about Steam Grid ID bug, it's talking about the website SteamGridDB, where you can download alternate covers for videogames. I assume the name comes from the original intention of using it for Steam games, but it has evolved over time to include covers of pretty much every game. Nagaa's emulator ports allow the use of Steam Grid for covers and forwarder icons.

Could you add the possibility of cropping the cover pics when generating the fowarders? The way it is now, the pic deforms after generating the forwarder.

Anyway, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Very happy to play god hand, castlevania and contra rebirth on my switch.

You can change the icon in the forwarder creation window and it will search for correct sized icon for the switch menu

Why can't I get Dolphin to work properly compared to Tico? No overclock in tico...
Tico is overclocked. No GameCube/Wii game is going to be playable on any version of the Nintendo Switch without an overclock. "The Dolphin core enables boost mode by default (1785 MHz CPU / 768 MHz GPU). This is within safe limits, but please monitor your device temperature and signals. We are not responsible for any hardware damage.

You can override these values using sys-clk to run at lower clocks. Note that some titles may not behave correctly at reduced clocks — Luigi's Mansion, for example, did not start past the first cutscene at lower values."

This app works great. I have two main issues: HLE doesn't seem to work in some games, tested both WW and Kirby Air Ride and HLE only works in Kirby Air Ride, and LLE halves the framerate. Another issue is that LFSG doesn't seem to be doing anything (I have placed lossless.dll). Thanks for the hard work, this is really great for a first build

Ah, thanks for the information; I actually didn't understand why.

Game library and launcher

  • Cover-art library with grid navigation, animated backgrounds, region badges, and UI sounds
  • Recursive game folders on the SD card, USB mass storage, and authenticated or guest SMB shares
  • SD, USB, and SMB file manager with rename, copy, move, paste, and cancellable transfer progress
  • SteamGridDB cover search and artwork selection using your own API key

I might have found the cause of the USB compatibility issue in Dolphin-NX. Not 100% sure, though.
I tested four different external hard drives on the same Switch setup.
  • Seagate Expansion (UASP) → detected and works correctly.
  • WD Blue in USB enclosure (BOT/USBSTOR) → not detected.
  • Toshiba external HDD (BOT/USBSTOR) → not detected.
  • Intenso external HDD (BOT/USBSTOR) → not detected.

All four drives:
  • are detected by DBI (ums0:);
  • work correctly on Windows;
  • use the same USB port and Switch dock
The only consistent difference I found is that the Seagate uses UASP, while the other three use Bulk-Only Transport (BOT).
I don't know if this is the cause, but it might be worth checking whether Dolphin-NX only works with UASP devices or has an issue with BOT devices.
