Is it possible to change the menu music? I'd like to replace the default with the SNES Classic menu music.

EDIT: Ok, I figured it out. I added bg_music.ogg to the root folder on my SD card and it replaced it. This doesn't work on FCEUltraRX though. Is there any chance this functionality could be added to that emulator in the next release?

SUPER BOMBERMAN 2 font please for the next 5.0.0 version of tomorrow

Please don't forget also to add the autoboot rom feature and the new color palette i suggested in a pull request for the new version of FCE Ultra RX 1.8.0!

Greetings @niuus

hey @niuus are you going to release the version 5.0.0 of Snes9x RX with the "Super Bomberman 2" font today?

And when you can release a new version of FCE Ultra RX with the proper autoboot ROM function and color palette i'm requesting and even made a pending pull request?
I already told you in a pretty civilized way to stop with the reminders, nagging, and continuous tagging.

Super Bomberman 2 is my vote
Now that we have a winner, SMB2 font it is. On the bright side, due to the delays caused by the constant and endless requests about having to fix this or that or release when and where, some new commits were added and will be integrated too in 5.0.0. Big release with the full amount of changes that were integrated.

Whenever I scroll through the list of games in SNES9XRX 4.9.0, one of two things will happen: A softlock, where preview images won't display, but I am able to scroll through the list of games and select a game, or "settings" or the "exit" button (at which point the system becomes unresponsive; or it will randomly hardlock the Wii. Either way the only way to exit the program is to pull the plug from the Wii. This has been going on for a while, and I think it might have something to do with the image previews, since it started after I set up a cover collection to run in the program. I'm not an expert, but maybe there is some sort of memory overflow with loading preview image files? If anybody else here has had this issue and knows a fix, let me know!

I don't think RX is at fault. I had a similar issue with all 3 "X" emulators. My image size was the culprit. What size are you using for images?

Mostly 680x500, with some exceptions for Super Famicom artwork sourced from a different place. It's been a few years since I grabbed them, but i'm pretty sure they were explicitly made for SNES9X.

Probably wouldn't hurt to halve the image resolution though and see what happens.

Way too high, you're definitely bombarding the poor Wii's limited memory, lol.

Use the recommended, 316x224 PNGs for covers and artwork. Screenshots, as per the emulator feature, are taken at 512x480 and never cause me trouble. You can use a batch convert+resize on your images and they will look nice and dandy.

A very brief summary update for the impending release of Snes9xRX 5.0.0:

A Wiimote-port-to-PSX-adapter got donated, which was a nice way to test if compatibility with third party Classic Controllers could be improved. Motivation was high and, suffice to say, it is definitely working now. :yayps3:

Tested with PS1/PS2 DualShock controllers, and even a no-brand PS1 arcade stick. All working smoothly.

This fix could or could not make your pirate / Mayflash / no name / asian adapters start working too, your mileage may vary.

Here is a pic in case you spot one in your local or online markets, so you can be sure it will work:

zbiArU0.jpg

And yes, it was also integrated to the next WiiSXRX, so you will be able to use your genuine PlayStation controllers with your PS1 games emulated on the Nintendo Wii. Weird times, uh?

@niuus
will version 5.00 be released on merry christmas night?
Currently updating the manual and adding the extensive changelog. Coming at the end of this month.

Theres also this USB one that's very cheap, sorry if is very unrelated or anything. But it seems lots of people own these, they work on Retroarch and some members here in the forums have it too.
Dont know if it's possible but it seems it would be a good feature.
Thank you for the work man!

Can't test or do much without the adapter in my hands. Looks nice, it's probably HID compatible.

Hi there @niuus

Don't know if you're still receiving pull requests for next Snes9x RX 5.0.0 but i've made a pull request for add the Scale2x filter and rename the Scanlines filter to TV Mode.

It is based in @Tanooki16's code.

Here https://github.com/niuus/Snes9xRX/pull/44

Hope you can add this to Snes9x RX 5.0.0.
Greetings :)

When using a Wii in 16:9 mode on a HDTV the games are stretched horisontally quite a bit and not true 4:3 even when using the "16:9 correction" option. Is it just me? And how do I fix it?

@wwhtvd

Have you checked and adjusted these options?
By pressing HOME button, then going to Game Settings > Video > Screen Zoom

The right-side screen zoom is might you want to adjust.
I recommend setting it to 89% or 90% for visualizate game in 4:3 in a 16:9 TV.

I wouldn't do that, if you pay attention, the pixels are uneven on a horizontal level, some are wider than others. On static screens it might not be too noticeable, but once you start scrolling or having things moving on screen, it's an entirely different thing.

If you're okay with that, well, it's up to you.
