Thanks very much for the DE update, my DE just came in today and I'm stoked.

Is there any chance of a version that reverses the default goomba border settings? I prefer the default (borders always on when available) and being able to choose would be neat.

Thanks for your hard work!!
Alright, so no version of Goomba Color will save the GB mode, and I can't just add that functionality because I'm worried about breaking existing save editing tools. So here's my solution.

For those that want the default Game Boy type set to "Prefer GBC over SGB" so that you get GBC colors and SGB borders, you can use this.

To set it up, use the file that's specifically designed for your cartridge. Then, copy the corresponding gbc.gba file to your /SYSTEM/PLUG directory. After that, it'll work just fine.

Base kernel update v3.45:
- Update to kernel 1.09, FW 9

DE kernel update v1.01:
- Update to kernel 1.03, FW 4
- Shoutouts to RibShark for assistance with pointing out an issue that turned out to be a hardware revision, EZ-Flash swapped out the NOR.

Original NOR: Spansion 71GL064A088FW08
New NOR: Spansion S71PL064JA0BAW0B
These are noted in the comments of Ezcard_OP.c as GL064 and PL064 respectively.

REMINDER: THE DE VARIANT WILL TELL YOU TO USE THE OFFICIAL KERNEL TO UPDATE FIRMWARE
Hello, so after installing the firmware for the DE, I have to update it with official kernel software? Nothing will overwrite the custom software (yours) sorry as you can see I lack knowledge in these types of tech field.

This is not firmware, this is a kernel.
The firmware is integrated into the cartridge FPGA. I couldn't fit the Firmware into this kernel for whatever reason unfortunately. When you write the official kernel, you will be prompted to update the firmware. Once you do that, this custom kernel will no longer ask you about it.

ZXAdvance is working great on the new version, but doesn't ever save settings, does anyone know how to make it disable the intro permanently?

Hey @Sterophonick !
Not sure if you are aware, but Romhacking user, Minucce, found out the reason why the Konami Collection games aren't booting with Goomba Color.
Here:
https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=31632.msg421187#msg421187

Just look to the latest post after that one, I believe he posted a code to possibly fix the issue in-source for Goomba Color.
Now just Crystal remains :P
'Bout that. I started a Github repo for a Goomba Color fork focused on bugfixes, and with Minucce's help I've fixed that, Minucce's own Kirby DX hack, and Crystal! If you'd like to use my fork in Simple, feel free.

Hi! Im new here. I would like to thank Sterophonick for the CFW, it's fantastic!
I had an issue today with the Ez Omega Flashcard. Im using the last version Of the simple cfw and It worked fine until today. The problem was that the GBA games dont save the games anymore (none of them)... I have changed the save type from auto-detection to sram 32kb in a couple of them and now It works!
My question is if the sram 32 can be used for all the games and if there is something i can do to fix the problem. I have already re-intalled the firmware but the auto-detect type of saving seems to be still not working.
Any idea? Thanks so much!

Hey just curious about trying to modify the skin so I can replace icons and backgrounds (I have EZFlash Omega). I'm assuming I could use Universal Skinner, but the definitions that were last posted in that thread don't support this kernel. If anyone could help me out, I would be really thankful. I'm giving my partner a gameboy advanced with a pink mew shell and IPS screen with the ezflash, so I thought it would be cool to be able to make the interface match the shell.

EDIT:
I found these definitions for v1.09, which is what this kernel is updated to, but it doesn't seem to work :(

Alrighty y'all. Imma admit this here now, I don't really enjoy working on this anymore, I'll be making a how-to guide to skin the kernel, as well as implementing @EvilJagaGenius' custom Goomba, but after that I don't think I'll but updating this much too often, unless EZ-Flash releases updates or Jaga releases new revisions to their custom Goomba fork.

IMO, there really isn't a need for you to be working on it anymore as far as I can see. EZflash is nearly perfect and any updates past this point are more optional features, so who even cares. Thanks for making the mod in the first place and for planning to a create a skin guide. I hope others join in on making skins, I'd love to see what people come up with (And I bet you'd be happy to see people make some cool skin for simple too :) )
