Hey so Ive been wanting to get retroarch on my wii u for a while but the recent stabel, nightly or from the homebrew app store wont work properly ive looked online and it seems like you need to combine the stable and the nightly and drag asstes from retroarch pc.

So I was wondering does anyone have a zip of retroarch that will just work without setup and a working fowarder for wup installer?

The latest stable version is fine aside from a few issues that would be there either way. Long story short, if you're running it from the Homebrew Launcher, the following file doesn't work (this is a known issue):
wiiu\apps\retroarch\retroarch.rpx

But there's a really simple workaround. Just delete that file, then copy this file into the folder above and rename it to retroarch.rpx:
wiiu\apps\2048_libretro\2048_libretro.rpx

The channel/forwarder can be downloaded from the first post in this topic:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/retroarch-wiiu-wip.447670/

If you're using the forwarder, you only need to copy the "retroarch" folder to your SD card and don't need to do the steps I listed above. However, you should read the last page or two of that topic to get up to date on current issues and other potential workarounds.

Hello
There's something I don't understand in what you say. If the forwarder is not updated, how can retroarch be in version 1.9.4 when I launch it ? For me a forwarder jus automatically launches the app which is on the SD Card, it doesn't replace it.

The folder setup on the Wii U version is a little confusing compared to other versions that split the root retroarch folder from the app folder.

The "retroarch" folder in the 7z download actually contains all of the same cores that are in the "wiiu/apps" folders. So it's okay that the RetroArch channel doesn't install anything since it just loads a core (usually 2048) from sd:\retroarch\cores.

I hope that makes more sense. :P Basically, all of the cores are in sd:\retroarch, so that's why you only need that folder.

Thanx ChiefReginod, it couldn't be clearer.
I got rid of the retroarch dir in the wiiu/apps directory :)
