thanks for replay. when I put the pkmn-chest.nds file onto your flashcard's microSD card and loading it, the screen braks into loading msg.when I use YSMenu.3ds to start TWiLight Menu++ and after that start pkmn-chest.nds i got the error msg:warning std:bad_alloc.
I have a copy of it at "fat:/_nds/pkmn-chest/pkmn-chest.nds" and in the root of my sdcard.
do you have any other help?
Hmm, can you try with this attached build and see if it works better? I tested on my flashcard a bit and got that error because it was loading in too many languages to check nicknames of Pokémon in various languages.

If this doesn't fix it can you let me know exactly when it's crashing and maybe send the save file you're trying to load? (ie when loading a save, when editing Pokémon, etc)

Hey, is it at all possible to inject a Platinum .sav that I've been playing on PC onto my Physical Cartridge?

Kind of a reverse engineering I suppose, as PKMN-Chest allows you to dump the physical -> SD, but I can't see anywhere to be able to inject a custom .sav on the SD back onto the physical.
pkmn-chest can't do that, but there are other things that can such as GodMode9i. In GodMode9i simply browse to where the save file is and click on it and choose "Restore save"

I could not even start it, so I did not put any save on it.here are the images:
1-put it in root of sd card
2-loading it inside Twilight Menu ++ loaded with YSMenu.nds because I have a dslite console.
I used the build in attchment.Any help?

Oh weird, it never crashes on the loading like that for me... Maybe try going flashcard kernel -> nds-hb-menu (the BOOT.NDS) -> pkmn-chest.nds

I'm afraid I'm not really sure what would be causing that as I've never had it happen myself...

no way of making it work. isn't the problem the fact that my console is a ds lite?is it possible to use a this tool on flashcard and it?

It works for me on my DS Lite using my DSTT and Acekard 2i, I think it's just kinda unstable on some flashcards for some reason and I'm not really sure why...

my flashcard is R4 SDHC gold pro.is there a way of changing the kernel of it for that you described so as that I could use pkmn-chest?

I'm not really sure what the problem is tbh

Usually using TWiLight Menu++ or nds-hb-menu will fix it, but that's not working here, maybe reformatting your SD card could help? (particularly with SD Formatter) Though that's really just a wild guess.

If your card supports it and you're not already using it maybe using RetroGameFan's YSMenu would work better. Or manually DLDI patching might help? Beyond that I'm not sure what else could fix it...

I'm not really working on pkmn-chest much at the moment, but if / when I get back into it more I can maybe try fix this... I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do though as this doesn't happen on any of my flashcards

You can extract the DLDI file for your card using the tool linked in this post, though not sure if that'd really help since it'd just be the exact same DLDI it patches pkmn-chest with...

Hmm, that's weird. First off, make sure you're on the latest version of TWiLight Menu++ (instructions are here) and the latest release of pkmn-chest (links in first post, don't use nightlies at the moment, they're rather unstable).

If that's all good, then I guess make sure it's set to the following in TWiLight's per-game settings: (press Y on it)
RAM Disk: None
Direct Boot: Yes
Run in: DSi Mode (or Default should work)

still not working
Weird, it works perfectly fine for me, even with a clean install...

Maybe try: (one at a time)
  • Deleting the "sd:/_nds/pkmn-chest/" folder
  • Loading pkmn-chest from GodMode9i or nds-hb-menu instead of directly from TWiLight
  • Moving pkmn-chest.nds to the SD root
  • Reformatting your SD card using either the dsi.cfw.guide instructions or SD Formatter
  • Installing Unlaunch if you don't already have it, or updating it if you don't have 1.8 or higher

I'm not really sure why this'd happen, it's never happened for me

I was having this same issue with a R4i gold 3ds rts card. It would just give that error in the middle of editing a pokemon or moving to and from the bank up above. However, on my other R4i gold 3ds rts, this never happened. Discovered the issue. The one with issues is one of the blue motherboard revisions. Which is known to be finicky in general. The one without issues is a Red colored motherboard from 2013 and it has no issues with any SD cards or homebrew apps.

Hey there ! First of all, I'd like to thank you for the amazing work you've done so far !

I'd like to ask for some help with a little issue of mine ! So, I've been using Twiligh Menu on my DSi XL, and I downloaded the nds file for Pkmn Chest. The only issue, is that whenever I launch it, it displays my sd card, with all it contains, but it fails to show me the save file of my actual cartridge game. I tried with pokemon black and pokemon platinum, but it always only shows some red message error for slot 1.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought I could use this to directly modify the save files of my cartridge games.

Could you please help me out ? Thank you in advance ! :)

Do you have Unlaunch installed? Unlaunch is required for homebrew to be able to access Slot-1.

No problem in fact, I was just dumb. I simply needed to eject and reinsert my cartridge and then everything worked perfectly fine !

It was my bad for not properly reading the instructions on GitHub.

Now I can finally play with whatever Pokémon I want on Pokémon Battle Revolution. Thank you so much !

So I loaded this onto the root of my R4 Gold cart into my Fat DS and it just hangs on a black screen. Is the fat DS not supported or am I doing something wrong?

Try loading nds-hb-menu, TWiLight Menu++, or GodMode9i then loading pkmn-chest from there, flashcard kernels can be iffy at loading some homebrew. See the wiki for more info.
