'Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom' has been rated for the Nintendo Switch

A new entry has appeared on the official ESRB's website for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - Prince's Edition with the Nintendo Switch specified as the platform. While there has been no official announcement from Bandai Namco of the Switch port nor of the "Prince Edition", it strongly indicates that the game, first released in 2018, is heading to the Switch with some new additions.

The entry is currently live on the official website where the game has received a "Teen" rating and reads:

This is an adventure role-playing game in which players assume the role of a man helping a half-human child to defeat an evil force. From a third-person perspective, players explore environments and engage in melee combat against fantasy creatures (e.g., half-human soldiers, skeletons, monsters). Players use swords, fireballs, pistols, arrows, and hammers to defeat enemies. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, cries of pain, and occasional gunfire. A handful of cutscenes depict quick splashes of blood when characters are shot.

already pirated this on the ps4, but I haven't played it. I'm really looking forward to this one. I don't know about the gameplay really, judging from the first one, which I bought on the switch. however, the art style is breathtaking.

I've finished this game before, two or so times, on the PS4 Pro. Item-grinding for quests and upgrades is immensely annoying, especially since you can't just hack them in - from what I can tell, items are not stored as simple "00 = no item; 01 or higher = quantity of item" a la Persona 4G and 5/R, but are instead dynamically added as you collect new ones, and only once they are added can you cheat to max out quantity.

Very annoying, since endgame resources are found in incredibly difficult optional dungeons. That's the only thing I didn't like about the game, though.

I wonder how many posts there will be before we get the predictable bitching about portendo ect ect :rofl2:

I don't mind the ports, because if I didn't have a ps4, I wouldn't have to buy one to play the game. I think ni no kuni 2 works on 5.05 without a backport, but they ported the first one over, which requires 6.72 I think, so ironically, the first game requires higher firmware than the second one. however, it can be played with a backport. I think I have it on my ps4 as well, but I bought it for the switch anyway, because I rarely play any games on my ps4. I guess I feel no obligation, since I didn't buy it on the ps4. that's kinda how I feel about any system I hack or exploit, except for the wii u.

Whoa there, let's confirm one thing at a time, like the sonic colors HD remaster rumor first before we go to this one.

(Though if this happen then that would also be good cause that's just one more rpg for the hand held console) :ninja:

Rectified it for ya; you're welcome!

Why even use handheld mode when both the visual and audio qualities are diminished? I never understood that...it's like intentionally nerfing yourself. Weird. Don't get it.

Is it crazy to believe people buy a switch to play it like a portable system? Nintendo made a "Strictly portable" Nintendo Switch lite for that very reason. Is not farfetched (not the pokemon) to think that people really don't care about resolution or graphics fidelity as much as others do. People just want a game that functions and is fun. :P

That's all optional though, I had no trouble beating the game without all that. Didn't really have to do any grinding.

Because for some people like myself who aren't graphics whores gameplay and storyline are far more important than graphics.

That's why you don't play it portably on a Switch...and get yourself a good paying job and buy a full on gaming laptop, no compromises!

Then don't get a Switch and get a desktop or laptop of some kind. What the hell do you expect, PS5 quality visuals with VXAO and SVOGI?
