A user on another message board suggested that upgrading solved the problem.
Is there any method to upgrade the emuNAND of CFW without burning fuses or altering the OFW version (4.1.0) in any way?

Yes but it would require being able to boot into the emunand, which you obviously cant do.

trying to use quark & goldleaf to install an NSP but I keep getting the same error. I've updated my sigpatches (at least I believe I have) and am still getting an error.

invalid nca (might mean missing sigpatches or a too low firmware) (4518)

Any ideas?

Try using TinWoo Installer instead.

No, quark is only usable with Goldleaf. There are plenty of alternatives that work with TinWoo Installer such as NS-USBLoader (Java) and Aluminum Foil (python).

Trying out NS-USBLoader and I keep getting the error that reads:

OpenFileSystemWithId:122: Failed to open file system with id:
............ Error code: 0x00234c02

Did you install the driver and set nsusbloader to tinfoil?

There should be a driver installer option within the program. I dont use nsusbloader so im not sure where it is, but its in a menu somewhere.

Well, I checked and installed the drivers. Ran through the motions again and......same outcome as before!

Most likely issue in my opinion is with sigpatches. Try installing tinfoil, if you can successfully get into tinfoil then it might give more info on the error. If you cant, then it proves my theory correct.

I just put the tinfoil nro file onto my sd card and tried to launch it from the HB menu and it just reverted me back to the main screen of the HB menu.

Thats what its supposed to do, its an installer. It runs, installs, and exits.

It installs tinfoil to the home menu. If you dont see tinfoil there and instead see a spinning icon, that meant i was right and youre missing sigpatches.

https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releases merge the atmosphere folder from the download here with the one on your sd root. Use the fusee download for fusee primary directly or fusee primary through hekate. Use the hekate download for hekate without fusee primary.

Sweet! This is the link I had used. Maybe the most noob question of all..how do I tell which one I should use? Sorry, very new to the switch HB game. I use hekate as my payload
