Hi, recently i installed twilight menu++ on my 3ds but it won't start, it says this to me:

An error occurred (ErrDisp)

Error type: generic
Process ID: 19
Process name: am
Process title ID: 0x0004013000001502
Address: 0x001093aa
Error code: 0xc8804478

Press any button to reboot.

I installed nds-bootstrap (from twilight menu updater) but it still won't start.
Someone knows the fix?

I have the same issue but i can't solve with twlfix
that means your sd card is fake this happened to me long time ago. I have an 256gb fake sd card which the true capacity is 16 which made my 3ds allmost brick and randomly removing games out of nowhere. Try
another sd card and see if it works or testing your sd card with H2TESTW which test if your sd card is fake or not

https://3ds.hacks.guide/h2testw-(windows).html
H2testw download

you can also try this https://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/getmirror/fakeflashtest,1.html this is faster but i reccommend h2testw

If your sd card is real then sorry i cant help

Does anyone actually know why twifix fixes this error? I can find a few dozen results with 0xc8804478, but only answers/suggestions how to fix specific issues and not as to how the error relates to an application as a whole.

The best fix I found was using the 3ds Recovery Tool app (https://db.universal-team.net/3ds/3ds-recovery-tool). Just install the app, launch it, go to advanced wipe, then click "Wipe all TWL titles", click yes, and that should completely delete all the TWL titles from the HOME Menu. All you need to do after that is reinstall the titles from the eShop or wherever you found them and you should be able to launch TWL titles now. if that doesn't work, then I have no other way to help sorry

twlmenu is a ds app so when ds files are corrupted resulting in this error two fix uninstalls them so the system can reinstall them through an update
