Does anyone know which release of the Save Mounter works best for 5.05?
I've tried most, but all that happens is that the application hangs when it's time to "refresh processes" or "setup".
I've been using Al Azif's dns since I can't get other hosts to work properly. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, I've followed several guides so far and still can't get it to work.

Thanks in advance!

I used xproject. it has save mounter followed by ftp in the same payload option. you have to use both otherwise or it won't work.

It's under tools.
Save mounter? If that's the one, I keep getting the "there is not enough free system memory" message, according to Al Azif I need to reboot the console when I get a couple of those in a row, which I'm doing. But I just keep getting those regardless. Also, I can't connect to the ftp either (I filled in the username and password in the host beforehand ).

not enough free memory is something I sometimes get with hen itself, but I've never had that happen with ftp or save mounter. I've only used save mounter a couple times, and all saves worked when I tested them. you might ask @KiiWii or @Leeful if you keep getting that error. I never had that error myself.

if you can't connect via ftp, try the ftp payload by vortex. make sure the ip and port are listed on screen; if not, your internet is probably disabled. I've used ftp about 40 times, and it's never failed from what I remember. when I did that avatar thing earlier today, I had forgotten to connect my pc to the sandisk connect, so it failed at making a connection. I immediately realized the problem. then, it worked instantly.

I never had a problem connecting with the app either (was talking about the payload deploying). if you get it working, remember: unmount each save after ftping them, and you have to do one slot at a time. if you don't unmount, the save could get stuck in limbo with no way to remove or delete it. if that happens, you have to rebuild the database which will cause your games to disappear. don't use the python script, instead make a copy of app.db in system_data/priv/mms or use the db and sg dumping payload.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

from what I remember from @Leeful , that python script causes games to be undeletable, so you have to modify the games directly in the app.db. that's why I wouldn't use it. if you do, you can make changes with sqlite browser.

yes, if you've signed in, you should be good. I don't know if you need to activate it. if you can export saves or use remote play, it's activated.

Is there anything that simply dumps my saves to a usb stick?
I'd then edit them, plug the stick back in the PS4 and inject the saves back?

you can put your saves on a usb stick if the account is activated, but you won't be able to edit them without save wizard, which costs $60. there's no way other than that or save mounter. the saves on the usb stick are using pfs (protected file system), which is why the ps4 has to do most things for us (don't have the keys). you can mount and pfs will be stripped with save mounter, then you can edit without save wizard.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

can't move saves to other accounts or systems with save export either unless using save wizard or save mounter.

yeah it would be nice to have the save wizard thing, but I'd rather save some $ and edit my saves myself seeing as I'm on 6.72.
always nice to try and remove some of the grind from games.

an important thing to remember that I think I put in my save mounter tutorial is not to open any games when you mount the saves. in fact, I think @Leeful told me that doing that can sometimes cause saves to become corrupted. they'll all mount and unmount without opening anything.

Would it make it anymore stable or reliable if I hosted the hack locally? Would it make any difference with the "there is not enough free system memory" shenanigans?
