Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES games for February 2021 revealed

Nintendo is bringing out some new-old games for the Switch, with this month's set of NES and SNES titles. On February 17th, you'll be able to play four new additions to Nintendo Switch Online, including the likes of fighting game DOOMSDAY WARRIOR, platformer Prehistorik Man, and side-scrolling action game Psycho Dream for the Super Nintendo. Meanwhile, the NES library gets Fire 'n Ice, a puzzle game.

Super NES™ DOOMSDAY WARRIOR – It’s the Doomsday Warrior versus the Doom Squad! This action game features an evil sorcerer who has recruited seven warriors to take over Earth. But one of the Doom Squad has resisted the influence and now stands against the rest as the Doomsday Warrior!

Psycho Dream – When Sayaka doesn’t return to reality after entering an immersive virtual world known as a D-Movie, the protagonists, Ryo and Maria, must progress through a terrifying fantasy game called Legend of the Fallen Capital to rescue her and bring her back to reality.

Prehistorik Man – Sam the caveman’s quest to save his village begins! Sam lives in a village whose food is stolen by dinosaurs. To get more, Sam must collect bones, which he can then use to buy food. On his way, he’ll need to make use of a variety of weapons, vehicles and attacks, including shouting, to attack all on-screen foes. Can Sam reach the dinosaur graveyard and collect enough bones?

NES Fire ’n Ice – As Dana, you have been chosen by the Queen of the Winter Fairies to bear the power of ice magic. With it, you must defend your home, Coolmint Island, from the wicked wizard Druidle and his flames!

The catalog of games already available is pretty good. This is what happens when they start dipping deeper in the catalog.

Am I the only one more bothered by the extremely low audio volume from the NES and SNES emus than by the games selection? I have to turn it all the way up (Switch Mini) just to get barely acceptable sound. Then go back to a Switch game, and it's very loud proving it isn't my console.

Also, gonna be mightily pissed if Nintendo disables these games when Switch Online is finally discontinued.

Prehistorik Man and Psycho Dream are pretty fun to play.

Prehistorik is a rather good caveman platformer to the likes of Caveman Ninja and Adventure Island 2.
I totally recommend it.

Psycho Dream is very short compared to a typical platformer and any character you choose is really OP.

The other one, I don't know

But I'm glad Nintendo is showing these obscure games on it's current platform.
I hope to see more hidden gems.

I don't see what Nintendo gains by slow playing their retro releases. Maybe just more news cycles?

Why not just make a streaming service with probably not EVERY snes, nes etc game but a good majority of them and have a hyperspin like menu, maybe even achievements etc.. All this is possible through emulation for some time now which is why people emulate. When Netflix came out, downloading movies "illegally" became less of a problem because the price was low enough to be worth the convenience of it.. When people went ape shit for the crappy NES and SNES classics because so many cool dads had actually not played Mario 3 since they had a real NES back in the day etc etc etc... When that happened I thought for sure some kind of Netflix like thing was coming but I guess Nintendo would rather piss in their fans mouths as usual
