If you don't have any luck with these suggestions, open an issue on the GitHub page and I'll help you debug the issue. I can't think of any reason it shouldn't be possible for this controller to be supported.

I might just do that. My pro-controller works with my wiimote with mission control, so it can't be the wiimote with a faulty port. To test the drum outside of my switch my only option is my wiiU but I don't have any taiko games on there. I don't think there is an option to test the drum on the wiiU outside of the game either unless there is a method I don't know of. It was working before I got my hands on it, so I don't think it could have broken that fast. Opening the drum test on the switch I get no response. And I don't think I'm being stupid and ignoring the fact there is some alternate way to turn the drum on, it should just plug into the wiimote and work like any nunchuck. If you could help me debug this in github that would be great. I'll open a report in a few minutes.

This module fixed the dead zones issue I was having with my WiiU Pro + Magic-NS, MissionControl emulates more accurately the Switch Pro Controller dead zones, some games like Darkwood suffer from this and some homebrew games like Red Alert, it just need rumble and it will be superior to Magic-NS in any way :)

That's interesting, I don't do anything specifically with the controller deadzones at the moment. The WiiU Pro controller sticks were weird in that there are no obvious maximum values, so I had to take a bit of a guess as to a suitable factor to use to scale the values to fit the precision of the Switch controllers. Maybe I just made a better choice than the Magic-NS devs. Glad to know it fixed your issues though.

I'm trying to connect the atgames legends gamer pro controller to my switch using missioncontrol but it won't show up on the switch while in pairing mode. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

Is this the controller you're talking about? I just took a quick look at its manual. It mentions pairing, but I couldn't see any mention of Bluetooth. Do you know for sure that it's a Bluetooth controller?

If it's definitely Bluetooth, make sure you're trying to pair on the correct screen (Change Grip/Order). Some controllers can take several attempts before they're successful. There's also the possibility that it's a Bluetooth LE controller, which is not currently supported. There's no easy way to check this on the Switch, but if you can pair it to a PC it should be possible to find out. Another possibility is that it uses Bluetooth legacy pairing and requires a pincode other than the default 0000. I think I would first verify whether you can pair it with a PC or phone, and whether it prompts you for any code.

If you manage to get it to show up as connected to the Switch, it will likely also need its own handler created before it can work.

I suggest opening a github issue requesting this controller to continue the discussion

@ndead can you add STEAM controller support?
It uses Bluetooth LE, which doesn't work yet. I've made some progress but it's not as simple as just mapping the controls like other controllers. Once Bluetooth LE is working I can add support for steam controller, Xbox series controller etc.

Yes, that was the controller I was talking about. I finally had the chance to connect it to my computer and each side shows up as its own Bluetooth device, so essentially 2 separate controllers on one deck. Unfortunately it is Bluetooth LE so I guess I'm straight out of luck. Sys-con didn't seem to work either.

Oh that's good to know it shows as two separate controllers, I was worried it might need to be handled as a special case in order to use both sides at once. It should be possible to support this once I have Bluetooth LE working. Consider making a controller request on GitHub so I don't forget about it.

When trying to use this plugin with Retroarch my DS4 controller doesn’t seem to work. (Can still use the home menu to exit the app) but my Xbox One controller works perfectly

Can't really think of any reason a controller should stop working properly for a particular application. Maybe Retroarch is ignoring the inputs for some reason. Is it the only controller connected at the time? If you can tell me how I can reliably reproduce the problem I can try take a look.

Correct, only the DS4 is connected when this happens.

If you only connect a DS4 and launch retroarch, you should experience the same bug right away. With only being able to open the sleep menu or exit the application(essentially only being able to use the home button)

the controller still works everywhere else tho, just can’t navigate/use retroarch

It's getting late here so I'll look into this tomorrow. Could you tell me which versions of Retroarch/HOS/atmosphere/MissionControl you're using?

Just to report I use a PS4 controller regularly with RetroArch and it's working fine for me - latest Mission Control, HOS 11.0.1, AMS 16.2, RetroArch 1.9 stable, never tried a knockoff controller with it

Has anyone managed to get those knock off DS4 to work?
Are you having problems with one? Do you mean a proper knockoff or a licensed 3rd party version? Controllers like the Hori Onyx will work after some pairing attempts. I don't have much data on bootleg versions though. I know there are problems with knockoff WiiU controllers, so there is definitely some Bluetooth hardware out there that just won't work.

Thanks for confirming. I suspect it must be an issue with the users setup. If there were truly a problem between MissionControl and Retroarch I'd expect someone to have reported it a lot sooner.

@Aheago any chance you've enabled some button remapping on the DS4 controller or something?
