Even if only the pixel form I imagine most here are familiar with guns (no we are not doing the ships, and possibly trains, have guns bit).
While many things are customisable
Most times a custom gun is not really a thing like you might have a custom forged knife, and it will still be based on a "platform". To that end having a favourite probably is something that you can reasonably compare. If something only gets to be usable after a tune up, some extras and fancy ammo then so it goes, mention that if you want.
If you saw one in a film or TV then chances are it will be noted in http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Main_Page , and that also has some nice things on the various versions of guns (their coverage of the AK stuff being pretty good as a primer http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/AK-47 http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/AK-74).
Do you watch gun channels or read gun websites? Share some of those with the crowd if you want.
Not particularly going for any directed conversation. Favourite to look at, favourite to play with at the range, favourite that you own, favourite if your location is rather restrictive, favourite if ammo price is not a consideration, favourite if playing a game, do you have any in posters on your wall? favourite for its history, favourite for if you are bad enough that someone is going to kick down your door at night... basically a general conversation. Do you do any gun sports or just go for the range? Does your local range offer anything fun like pop up steels or are you lethal for paper? Do you do anything for distance?
