Help, my laptop is laggy af

So, recently, and I don't know why, my laptop started to lag, BUT A LOT, specially Firefox
I tried to use a cleaner, but, while erased a lot of trash, it didn't help a lot.
Could somebody help me with this? Thanks

What's the spec of the laptop?

Have you run the usual antivirus/malware scanner to see what gets picked up?

Is your hard drive a SSD or an HDD?

Get an SSD and reinstall Windows. If you have a DVD drive on the laptop that you don't use, you can take it out and put in your old HDD.

could also be thermal throttling, look at the fan/heatsink

Already erased them. The computer now runs as before. Holy shit, it was like 35 files and folders to erase

You've got quite a bit of cleaning up to do before you notice any difference. You may need to restart the laptop a few times as part of the cleanup process.
