OP
I have a REBUG PS3, and accedentally hit the "Update" button when it popped up. Sony banned me, which I thought would then get rid of the screen, but I'm still locked on it! I've tried booting into Recovery Mode and turning off my Wifi, but it always automatically boots to the Update Screen! Help!

You are not doomed. The PS3 is unlocked we will always have the keys. That being said if you did update you have to wait for a new exploit.
If you did not update it will probably let you update 4.87 HFW by Joonie.
Be patient this forum is half dead. but it<s still the best PS3 out there as the others ones are more dead

I don't think I can update it. Will it auto-update or something during the update screen?

I CAN'T USE RECOVERY MODE, THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING FOR ANOTHER SOLUTION! I am stuck on the Update screen, I am NOT trying to update!

Take your hard drive out. Put in a spare and go to recovery. If it asks for 4.87 then install 4.87 OFW. If it asks for a lower FW then good isntall 4.86 as rebug works on that. Put your old drive back in and you can install 4.87/4.86 ofw again (Depending on wha tyou updated to) to get back in or install 4.87 CFW that came out today. Personally I would 4.87 HFW and use hen until rebug 4.87x

I don't have a spare. All I'm trying to do is leave the Update screen, not actually update the system. I just wanna use the fucking console again.

Get a spare hdd can be small and will get you out that loop. Just did this fix on a few ps3s recently. Had a ps3 that nothing worked so I had to downgrade with progskeet then fixed it.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
