Hacking USB loading on Wii U

Hello. I recently just got a Wii U from a pawn shop and I’m looking to Homebrew it. As far as loading CFW goes I think I understand that, but the one thing I’m having a lot of trouble finding a solid solution for is USB loading Wii U games, similar to how it’s done on the Wii. I have a 2TB Seagate external HHD that I want to put my Wii U games on to play them on the Wii U. I already have all the games and they’re formatted in the Loadiine format. Is there any simple and clean way to do this?

For your Loadiine Games you can use the Loadiine GX2 Loader please:

But unfortunately it only works from SD Card.
Alternatively you can also use the Loadiine Format with the awesome CEMU Wii U PC Emulator.

If you want to use the HDD,you need the Games on Disc (to dump them) or already in WUP Ready Format or "organize" them with the Wii U USB Helper.
Then you can use the WUP-Installer GX to install the Game to the HDD.
(You can also "convert" your Loadiine Games into the WUP Format if you like....)

USB download helper can convert them but it takes a long time to do. It would actually be quicker just to redownload them in wup format using USB download helper.

It is a PC program. It can be difficult to setup. As it downloads straight from the Nintendo CDN servers, I am unsure whether I can link it here.

A quick Google search using the string "Wii U USB Helper 2020" should get you setup though. The tutorial I used for it about 3 weeks ago came from Reddit and worked flawlessly.

I somehow managed to get a Guitar Hero Live guitar and dongle for Wii/Wii U but I never got the game. This game is impossible to find in any format, period. It just is not available at all.

Guess I'll be dumping my first disc soon.

I recommend gutting the disk drive from your WiiU and putting a hard drive in that space.
Solder the hard drive directly to the USB port internally.
I did this to my WiiU and now it's ultra quiet.

There's USB enclosed 2,5" hdd, SD card, and of course the NAND.

Nintendo basically treats the Wii U worse than the 3DS lately. They stopped 3DS users from being able to download games straight from Nintendo but they have not done this for the Wii U (yet). The last Wii U update was back in June, and it did nothing to ban users of pirated games or custom firmware users.

Don't cheat and you'll be fine.

In case you have Cold Boot Haxchi (and maybe also for the other Custom Firmware Methods):

Maybe as Precaution (a new Exploit for the Wii U is maybe on the Way...) you should change your Internet DNS Settings to block Updates:

Please Note:

In order to access the eShop, run the NNUPatcher app from the Homebrew Launcher before launching the eShop.
