You can run PS1 via Retroarch, but i don't think it runs well on O3DS, there's also a lot of other consoles emulators in RetroArch you can try it, and of corse you can run DS games via TWiLight Menu++
thanks man, but for some reason when i install the ps1 core for retro arch my 3ds crashes when i try to open the core or retroarch for some reason

Try to install the last Cia stable build, they fixed some emulators, most of them work at fullspeed and are compatible with Achievements and Netplay

Not really a fan of retroarch on 3DS. Here is a list of the stand alone emulators from the wiki I have installed and working on my New 2DS XL console.

Handy: Atari Lynx
mGBA.: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance
picodrive: Sega Master System / Megadrive / Game Gear
Snes9x: Super Nintendo
temperPCE: NEC PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 / TurboGrafx CD
TwilightMenu++ for playing DS games from SD memory card
uae3DS: Commodore Amiga
vice3DS: Commodore 64
virtuaNES: Nintendo Entertainment System

All emulators have fast loading and nice gui, that offers quick access to all the installed games.

well yeah, but only if it a

yeah, but only if it actually works

It doesn’t require much of anything to get the FCEUMM, GenesisPlux, PicoDrive, Gambette, or Mednafen-PCE cores up and running. Just drop the 3dsx files into the right directory. Bios files are required for Sega CD and Turbo-CD but that is true with most emulators.

Hehehehehe.... It's just info related to the OP request, after all (and is the official wiki from GBATemp about emulators on 3DS)B-)B-)

But, about that, personally I think that Retroarch cores are not very recommended to Old 3DS model type consoles. Then, I agree in some way with you (I have one of them, indeed, and for a long of time I stopped using Retroarch and personally use the emus developed by Bubble2k16 for load classical/popular roms... I'm really not very obsessive fan of emulation, though :D).

You can try temperPCE, picodrive, VirtuaNES and Snes9X all of them are made by the same user and is compatible with o3ds. They all work excellent.
As for GBA, i think vc injections works the best.
For DS, you can try twilight++ or a R4/other DS catridges that are compatible with a 3ds. R4 works bests in my opinion, better than twilight since it has more compatiblity with games.

We need a sticky for this. For both O3DS and N3DS.
Anyways, i use O3DS so the ones i'll suggest are 100% certain to work well

genesis, snes and NES emulators by bubble (picodrive, snesx9 and virtuaNES) look up his github
for GBA either injection or GBArunner2 (haven't tried open AGB firm but people say it also works)
Deadlux64 (N64) runs, albeit slow, barely playable. I don't recommend it if you use O3DS, maybe one day it'll run better..
ScummVM for point and click adventures like monkey island works flawlessly
Gameboy and Gameboy Color, use Gameyob. Make sure to try both the 3DS and the DS versions, the latter supports super game boy borders and according to people it's better than the 3DS version for other reasons i don't understand nor really noticed.
You can also install individual retroarch cores, like gambatte for gameboy, which works slightly worse than gameyob but has more settings to fiddle with, and quickNES, which works flawlessly and.. if you don't hate retroarch you could use over bubble's virtuaNES i guess.

That's all from me, i haven't tried any older consoles emulators. the NEOGEO emulator for DS allegedly can run on 3DS but you have to go thru some shenaniganz that i didnt deem worth it. PSX doesn't boot (as far as ive tested). There's also ports of games like doom and mario64 if you dig that
