Got cfw setup on the switch (emuMMC), so far i have installed no games (just incognito, and 90DNS) downloaded the latest version of Tinfoil and placed it in the Switch folder on the SD card and ran homebrew and loaded the tinfoil nro file. When i go back to the switch home screen the first game tab just has the egg timer cycling where tinfoil art should be if i click on it it says 'checking software' and the says 'an error has occurred please try again later'

any ideas why this is happening?

It can be about sigpatches. Have you installed them?

Hey! Quick question-for some reason I can't manage to get my cheats not to be automatically enabled when I start games in CFW... I've already changed the .ini file in config, but my cheats are still being enabled automatically. Anybody have any advice?

I'm running Atmosphere 14.4 on v10.2. I used Gamecard Installer to dump South Park: Fractured But Whole. When launching the title, it requests an update. Two questions: 1. Is there an easy way to manage and retrieve updates for backups? 2. If I downloaded the update running OFW, can I transfer that my emmNAND folder on the SD?

I screwed up my sxos somehow and just want to start fresh. How would I start fresh? Are there any files I need to keep? Am I able to save any of the games I have installed already? Thanks for the help in advance.
Keep the Nintendo folder and saves are stored in the console's internal memory.

So is using AutoRCM still not recommended!!??
It was never not recommended. There is no reason not to use it nowadays.

Is 8BitDo Wireless USB adapter works on Switch with sx os modchip? I want to use my Dualshock 4 on switch.
The adapter doesn't require CFW.

  1. Aside from downloading the update on your console legally, there are no other legal ways to obtain the update
  2. Yes but you would have to transfer the entire folder

Why does the homebrew menu loads from the album? Wouldn't make just so much sense to use the news section or the eshop since you can't touch those on CFW?

There's no particular reason Album itself was chosen apart from the fact that its the most useless applet that can be used. News cannot be used because its not really an applet as it is more a part of qLaunch as explained in this thread from 2018.

Is there an easy way to know what is what in the Nintendo\Contents\registered folder?

If emuNAND is recommended to always stay offline, does it mean the FTP options in homebrew like Checkpoint are only for the most daring, reckless souls or is there something I'm missing? Also, is it true bans have occurred on sysNAND for doing nothing beyond launching save-management homebrew?

- In emuNAND, you can decrease your ban chance by setting up 90DNS, Incognito, (and Stealth mode on SXOS). With these precautions, you can enable WiFi and use wifi required homebrew tools. But there will always be a ban risk.
- You can get banned by changing saves on SysNAND if you have wifi enabled too. Especially on games that have Cloud Save Feature.

I got tinfoil to load now, i used the sigpatches from this thread (https://gbatemp.net/threads/sigpatches-for-atmosphere-hekate-fss0-fusee-secondary-only.571543/)

But have noticed now that when i load tinfoil i get the following warning......

I have booted the switch with the Atmosphere fusee-primary.bin (renamed to paylaod.bin) do i want to uninstall Kosmos?

Id rather just be using Atmosphere rather than having Atmosphere load via hekate - CTCaer but thats what was used for the payload in the tutorial i followed for added cfw on the emuMMC??

As far as I know Kosmos is outdated(?) and there is no reason for you to keep it. You can uninstall it.
