I have problems with the plugin to play videos that are on an external hdd, it recognizes them but if I try to launch a video and it comes out of wiiflow. Also, if I immediately go back to wiiflow, it doesn't recognize what is on the external hdd and I have to turn on the wii.
I have tried a video on the sd and the plugin does work correctly. The hddd and the sd are in fat32.

By the way, is the plugin properly configured? because the name of the dol file is not the same as the one that comes in the folder (I have corrected it)

If it's worth something, I use wiiflow 5.4.6, I saw in the forum that there is a beta of 5.4.7, is it worth it?
did you try SD first and then switch to USB? if so view your video covers and press HOME on wiimote to go to Home Menu and then select Reload Cache. if you don't do this then wiiflow's cached list still thinks the movies are on SD.

Edit: @Tetsuo Shima also i thought the mplayerce plugin needed the apps/mplayer-ce folder and files as well.
@Jate i think it would be better to use the wiimc plugin.

edit2: yes it does require the apps folder. grab it from the mastermod pack or plugins pack v7 on google code archived site.

I have that folder in the app forder, is it possible that in the first version of the plugin pack it was already there? Or maybe I took it from the old wiiflow ...

No, from the beginning I have the videos on the hdd and the plugin configured to read them from there (rompartition = 1).
But since I was trying to find the problem, I put a video on the sd and changed the drive (rompartition = 0), then reload cache to detect the video from the sd and it was working fine.
It seems that the problem is only with the videos when they are in the usb hdd.

@Jate i think it would be better to use the wiimc plugin.

Thanks, I have tested this plugin and the videos from the usb hdd work correctly.
The first time I used wiiflow (original) this plugin did not exist.

And now I have problems with the nintendo 64 emulator.

I copy the not64 folder from the Wiiflow Plugin Pack to the usb hdd and add the roms.

When I launch a game from wiiflow I get this error in the emulator:

Error opening directory "usb:/not64/roms" and if I press "OK" in not64 the options are:
- Load from DS
- Load from FAT
- Load from DVD
- Load from SMB

The roms are detected if I use "Load from FAT"

What I don't understand is that if I run the Not64 from the Homebrew Channel, the options for loading roms are:
- Load from DS
- Load from USB
- Load from DVD
- Load from SMB

Try changing your ROM Partition to 1 in the N64.ini file

You're right @Jate I'm having the same issue as you with not64.
After some time pulling my hair, I finally realized the reason why: I had updated the plugin with the 20200609 release, the previous version was working good but I think I just forgot to test the new update (I've changed and tested so many things that my brain still hurts).
Well, I don't actually play with it, so I think It would have taken me a long time to discover this issue.
Thank you for reporting it.

So the working version is this one even if it's 4 years old. Unless someone will be able to fix the new version, there's no other choice that I know of (not even for Wii64)

@Tetsuo Shima Just wondering from a personal experience, you keep everything on SD Card but what consoles do you strictly play on HDD for better compatibility/playability?
Using Hdd doesn't increase compatibility or playability, it's just convenient for the increased storage capability, expecially when dealing with cd iso images or video files

Hello, hopefully this is the correct thread, but I have some issues with getting both MAME (fba_neo in wiiflow) and SDLMame-wii (fba_alpha) to start up. (Capcom Play Systems works fine, by the way)

Covers shows upp properly so far but as soon as I try to load any game, it kicks me back to the startup menu (when it says "press A to continue") What might cause this? It's driving me crazy.

Just smashed through the entire Handhelds category. Just missing 2 things

- Missing GBA WiiMednafen.ini
- Missing Game n Watch.ogg Bannersound

I have them here, but can't upload them for some reason.

Awesome pack @Tetsuo Shima Never been so simple to set things up, the folder structure is beautiful <3

You're confusing Mame with Final Burn, they're different emulators that require totally different rom sets.
Also, different versions of Mame (SDLMame-Wii and Mame2003+) are not using the same rom sets.

Hi
I did not plan to test more emulators but as retroarch cores do not support gun I have tried a few other emus and I will comment on a couple of things:

fceu_rx

I have not managed to make it work and I always get: CODE DUMP

snes9x_rx

I have not managed to make it work and I always get: CODE DUMP

fceux_tx

This works but to save the emulator folder in the root of the unit you must call fceux (
in the plugin pack there is only fceugx)

snes9x_tx

This works but to save the emulator folder in the root of the unit you must call snes9x (
in the plugin pack there is only snes9xgx)

I Honestly don't know how Retroarch is relevant, It's awesome on pretty much ANY other system but it's just plain awful on Wii imo. Personally, I only use it when I have to if there's no other EMU's to use.

What are you trying to use a Light Gun for? Genplus, Snes9xgx & Wiimednafen all have 'Zapper' support and work great. Which snes9 emu is the best to use? I've literally Just configured my plugin to use snes9x-tx :unsure:

That explains why I'm getting kicked back to the startup menu. But it's fine to use fba_alpha to NeoGeo romsets?

That explains why I'm getting kicked back to the menu. I tried a different romset for NeoGeo that was made by MasterShoes long ago that should support it. It's even named FBA Neo-Geo romset. I'm starting to think that my plugins for this is wrong. You can have a look if you'd like:

(it's still the older wiiflow plugins, I just don't have the time right now to redo everything)

[PLUGIN]
displayname=FBA Neo
magic=464E454F
coverfolder=MAME/GEO
dolfile=retroarch-wii/fba_cores_neo.dol
romdir=gxgeo/roms/wiiflow roms
filetypes=.zip
consolecoverid=
covercolor=ffffff
bannersound=NeoGeo.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}/|{name}

I've just checked and I can't confirm what you say. They all work correctly for me, including saving and without the need to rename the root folders.

Well, it's the exact opposite for me. As I said, it's all a matter of personal preferences. For me, scanlines overlays are the main reason to prefer Retroarch over the rest, because I have a large LCD display and I hate to play 8 and 16 bit games on a big screen without scanlines. But if you play on a CRT TV or you just don't care about these kind of things, then all emulators are equally good.

Note that to play neogeo games you need the neogeo bios file in your roms folder.
To use Neo Geo games with this plugins pack you can either use:
RETROARCH - libretro Fba
magic=464E454F

RETROARCH-HEXAECO Fba
magic=464e4748

For the bigger games you can use:
RETROARCH - libretro Fba VM
magic=4e474c52 (just found out that it was wrong in my plugin .ini - use this)

RETROARCH-HEXAECO Fba VM
magic=4e475648

I have tried again:

I have discovered something with the rx emulators (fceu and snes9x). If I delete the settingsRX.xml file that is in the Plugins folder, the emulators work correctly and create that file again (maybe the previous configuration that was in the Plugin Pack gave me the code dump)

But with the Tx emulators (fceu and snes9x) if I try to save I get an error: "error to open the folder".
I have looked at the forum threads for these emulators and the author says in red that the directories have been renamed, so I have tried it and it works fine for me. I don't understand how the Tx emulators work for you with the same folders as the Rx ...

I agree with @Tetsuo Shima, the Overlay options work very well for LCD TVs (I even make custom borders to keep the original aspect ratio of the consoles). But in CRT TV all emulators are good.

In addition, retroarch allows you to save custom settings for games or game folders.
With normal emulators you can't, I have to select the type of control for the games every time.

I already have the BIOS files in the rom-folder, but where exactly am I suppose to change the plugin.ini to the correct one you mentioned (4e474c52) is it still in the fba_neo.ini? 3 games are showing up of 140 games I have so you are right about that. But then I will have to change it in the source_menu aswell to match? Thanks for helping out!

yes, just change the magic number in your fba_neo.ini and in your source menu.
You should also add rompartition=0 if your roms folder is on SD
Or rompartition=1 if you have roms on USB
