Actually it is somewhat your fault because you could have put in the effort to make it front-paged.

That's a bad take. It's up to the staff to credit or front page user submitted news. Just because it may not "fit" the front page monologue doesn't mean it can't be credited.

Credited for what? Being first? Making a thread worthy of being front-paged will always take time so making a quick thread that doesn't require as much effort will always be first therefore not necessarily worthy of credit.
