The Switch is literally a Wii U revision.
I mean the new vita killer is the switchAh the vita killer gets the chop.
Imagine getting headaches from shitty 3Dfinally the headaches and future brain tumors can cease!
Think about it from this perspective: If you have something that's taking up space and processing power on one of your servers, and it's not profitable anymore, what sense does it make to keep online? At that point you're just burning money to keep a service that almost nobody uses anymore running.I don't understand why people keep saying this. The old Nintendo WFC was shut down because Nintendo had less control over it than they do over the current 3DS online services. And the Wii Shop endured for a very long time. (Of course, that was also accessible from the Wii U, but nonetheless.)
On the other hand: keeping the service running may encourage people to start or continue buying digital games when they might not otherwise, as it helps to allay fears that current services may be suspended prematurely. This benefit may easily outweigh the costs of keeping servers running, which can't be very much. After all, it remains that if keeping the Wii Shop running was unusually costly, it would have been shut down long ago.Think about it from this perspective: If you have something that's taking up space and processing power on one of your servers, and it's not profitable anymore, what sense does it make to keep online? What are you talking about? They may look somewhat alike, but the Switch is SO MUCH BETTER than the Wii U.The Switch is literally a Wii U revision.
The Wii Shop was shut down long ago. ???After all, it remains that if keeping the Wii Shop running was unusually costly, it would have been shut down long ago.

Well, maybe someone could create dedicated servers for the 3DS games but Wiimmfi certainly won't do that. They are emulating GameSpy's servers. Nintendo Network (which is what MK7 uses) is an entirely different thing. When online shuts down, at least Wiimmfi will re-enable Mario Kart 7 right away.
Now I'm worried abour Nintendo Network...
Not necessary anyway:Well, maybe someone could create dedicated servers for the 3DS games but Wiimmfi certainly won't do that. They are emulating GameSpy's servers. Nintendo Network (which is what MK7 uses) is an entirely different thing.
Switch Lite?Holy shit...
This is the end guys.
We'll never see a portable console anymore ⊙.☉
considering they still run wii u servers i don't see why notI guess all the parts have finally been used up. A shame they didn't try to squeeze in one last "Mario 35th Edition" 2DS XL console.
At least the eShop should be open for a little longer but I hate to imagine 3DS digital only games being lost when Nintendo deems the online shop not worth the cost of keeping the servers running.
It was just shut down last year, after twelve years of operation. I expect that if it was expensive to maintain, it would not have lasted twelve years. The Wii Shop was shut down long ago. ???
I use my 3ds all the time. It aint a system that I am going to be getting rid of any time soon.Sad. Anyone else still playing with their 3DS? I just re-finished Mario 3D land and am now wokring on the bonus levels
