Hacking Possible to convert jap .bin save to US .bin?

This is a dumb question, but how would I hex edit the title id? I do have a hex editor but I don't know what to edit

Is the title id in the text on the right? I've never done this before, and thanks for helping me.

Is it possible to convert a Japanese .bin save to an American .bin save?
It depends on the game. It is entirely possible for a Japanese program to be heavily revised before it is released in North America, or vice-versa, such that the save data is not portable between versions.

The American title id ends with an E and the Jap title id ends with a J. If I go into hex editor and open up the file with the offsets showing, what would I be editing specifically?

I did try copying and pasting the save data from the Japanese to American, and when I went into my sd card menu, there were question marks. Does this mean it's too edited?

the title id is probably in hex. the serial number is in the text field like this:

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm going to look in the American version to see it I can find it.

it might be beneficial to compare an American save with a Japanese one. nintendo files are easier to deal with as they don't ever seem to use encryption with their saves. the wii u at least uses no encryption.

I looked at both of them and the right hand side is complete gibberish to me. I'll look it up online and see if I can find the title.

it could be in either the hex field or the text field. the wii u has its in hex but the switch's can be found in the text field. it's probably in the header some place or near the top.

How about the Wii? Is the Wii the same as the Wii U in terms of hexes?

And thanks for telling me about the info being in either the hex or text field. I can't find it in the text part so I'll look in the hex.

I did try copying and pasting the data from the jap save to the us save. Does that usually work? I tried it and my save file turned to question marks. A comment above said that sometimes saves go through revisions. Does this mean it won't work through hexing?

like this. this is for mega man battles network 6 cybeast falzar on the wii u. it's a fake ticket (not a save or I'd use one as an example):

here's the switch:

the game nsp is for 1-2 switch btw. I'm not sure about the wii. I've never messed with their stuff. I only learned about hexing from the ps3 scene onwards, so I probably didn't even have a hex editor back then.

Thank you for the pictures. They help a lot!

I looked up the title id online but I can't tell if it's for the US region or PAL region. Is there a simple way of looking up the title ids for games? And then when I know, I'll look through the hex.

try this: https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Title_database

it shows the hex. the 3ds title id stuff or maybe it's the serial number is really complicated from what I remember. it's a series of bytes in two locations, but this shows u the hex for wii.

remember: it won't be hyphenated like the title ids generally are. it would be an invalid character.

it's probably not as complicated as a sony save. psx saves are 8,192 bytes per block, but they don't contain the title id or even the save name. that's for block 1 of a 16 block card where 15 blocks are usable = 128KB.
