Then something's gone very wrong, since the same version was a flawless 60fps for myself and others when it released, no framepacing oddities either when I looked through my own footage.
Well, v7 with added textures was a stuttering mess for me.

Mario 64 in Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the Switch is supposed to be the original game...
When Nintendo actually does make remakes, they do it right. This isn't one and was never implied to be.
Sure, as they did with OoT3D. That was last time I have used my money to buy a Nintendo remake.

lol wat?! have you ever played AM2R?! it would have won a game awards 2016 if nintenDMCA didn't take it down

too bad for them though it's still out there and still being updated and better than their crappy 3ds remake :P
Oof, I was really talking bout the 3d remakes made in like Unreal and Unity that you find on youtube.
AM2R is actually really good.

at the current moment, nintendo is not interested in game dev and instead it's becoming a secondary thing while the products derivated from it become the main source of income from them
it's *exactly* what game freak did, where the new games, since the 3ds, serve as a catalog for new pokemon.
players get attached to them through playing and regardless of the game quality ( as it already has fan loyalty and brand recognition ), the sales are guaranteed.

with super nintendo world about to open, it's no wonder they're playing as safe as possible.
it's a little too safe though and it's becoming damaging to them.
the nintendo directs are made solely for investors now, to show that nintendo does in fact still maintain the public interest and has new projects to offer.
iwata was the last barrier preventing the current state of nintendo, it will be a long time before we get the nice nintendo we grow up with... if ever.
things have soured up inside nintendo too, iwata understood what it meant to be a game dev and made nintendo a really pleasant work place, different from the usual japanese business model.

one of the worst things about it is how they drip games on the switch.
there's nothing for months and then suddenly there's a port of an old game.
it always sells well, but the results have been increasingly worse, look at link's awakening for instance
they gave it to grezzo to handle it, grezzo couldn't get the tilt right from albtw so they tilted the camera instead, the hud looks like a unity game alpha and the game somehow lags massively from time to time
and it's either that or they release a cheap budget game ( akin to the playstation simple series ), but since there's no other nintendo release it becomes a big deal because people are so desperate for a game with the nintendo polish and feel.
clubhouse games is hot garbage, most games can't even be played locally unless you buy more switches, and this is a game meant to be played with friends or family, either in person or online, so it comes off as scammy as hell.

and that's not even touching on the subject of how shoddy the switch itself is, nintendo made controllers designed to intentionally under certain situations, never offered a solution and raised the price of replacements through the roof.
not only that, but games like clubhouse games don't allow you to use anything but joycons, so if you bought an 8bitdo or something to replace a drifting joycon, tough luck. and it makes the games in it hell too.

switch plus doesn't seem to address those issues, and introduces new ones, so it's complicated.
at least we'll see more games, since they're holding back so many games to blow up its announcement.

I keep thinking of those bastards on twitter that were crying for nintendo to halt production of anything 3ds because they assumed that would mean more games on the switch...

Nintendo sealed their fate with the Switch. They left the living room console concept since they couldn't compete with PS and Xbox, and they decided to compete against phones instead. If that's not sinking to a new low, then I don't know what is. To make matters worse, the Switch has been out for 3 years now, and there's still only a few new games worth playing on it. Mario Odyssey, Yoshi, and Luigi's Mansion. Breath of the Wild was on the Wii U, so I don't count that as a new title for Switch. At the end of the day, I bought the Switch to play Odyssey, but honestly haven't touched it since I finished that game. A regretful purchase. Nintendo needs to fire a lot of people, and pray that they find some new talent before it's too late. Otherwise, the strategy of porting over games from PC, Xbox, and PS is a losing strategy. Who the hell would play Witcher 3, or other AAA games on the Switch, when those games look and play 10 times better on the other platforms??? Get clue Nintendo and bring back that originality and charm that differentiated you from everybody else, or die trying to be like everybody else.

Why is it that a single person can do better remakes than the whole Nintendo company?

Compare the following Super Mario 64 remakes:

Nintendo

Fan

nintendo lost its greatness decades ago, all they do now is cheap inferior hardware to recycle the same shit 24/7, to the point now that they cant even be bothered and port its old shit, or pass off to another company.

since the n64 that (for me) is when nintendo started going down hill and to be fair i wish theyd just quit the console market and just become a game dev, no point buying nintendo consoles to play old shit dating back to ps2 because nintendo cant get the support, due to having shit hardware.

im confident its intentional to limit 3rd party support so it gives its shit priority of sales.

but lets see what they crap out when theyre forced to make a new console once ps5/xbxsx launch, fat chance the switch will be able to compete as it cant even compete to the ps3

but yea this so called reworked game is a pile of shit, hackers have done a far better job

you got that right.....still missing times when Nintendo still being known by some niche gamers. Nowadays, they tend to move to all-age games and most of the new games feel so bland

I think that Nintendo has their "moment" of greatness.
Smash Ultimate and Banjo was definitely one of them. They had no personal interest with giving out Banjo. It would have sold anyway.
But they did, and it was a strong moment.
The rest of the time yeah, I really wonder. They are sitting on a giant gold mine. Games like Path of Radiance are sold $400 dollars and there is no other "legit" way to play it. Paper Mario... while not bad, was not what people were asking for and they consistently refuse to give them that. And there's the whole Mother 3 matter.

I don't know. This year was definitely a let down though. I love Sunshine, I love Galaxy, but SM64 deserved better. It deserved the OoT 3DS treatment at least.

In my view this ain't an All Stars successor.

Remember the original All Stars? All games were reworked, improved, patched and loved. This is just a bunch of games that were recompiled for the Switch without afterthought.

I'll pirate it, so they can shove the limited availability and unwillingness to work in the Switch's slot.

the new guy in charge (don't know what his name is because his not worthy of a legend to learn it like iwata) all he cares about is business and money. his running nintendo into the ground with this pitiful and shoddy business tactics. he better wake up and do the switch pro properly with great third party support, hardware that's good enough to keep up with the ps5 and proper fucking online. OH AND FIX THE FUCKING DRIFT or better yet dump the pieces of shit and just tell everyone to use the pro controller.

And yet, Nintendo has the audacity to make it limited edition. lol

No wonder Nintendo fans still have the mentality of Nintendo games being valuable, yes, some are.. not all.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The fan """"remake"""" isn't a remake and was never supposed to be one. It was made by someone called nimSony for fun.
It still proved that someone was able to remake the game, but Nintendo knows their audience so they didn't even care to remaster, at the very least.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I didn’t play them actually
You're in Germany, right? You did yourself a favor.

The PAL version of Mario 64 is shit.

Original... So, the Japanese version? :P That is the original, after all.

Why should they? They've already outsold the PS4 in Japan by 44% despite being out for less than half the time. They've also outsold the Xbox One globally by 12 million units. Clearly their strategy has been working pretty well for them. They could never sell another unit and it would still count as a huge success. I wish they would change some of their practices, but you're kidding yourself if you say that Nintendo isn't doing well right now.

you do know that graphics don't make a game great, right? You could have all the pretty and shiny visuals in the world and still be stuck with a game that has shit for a story line.

I'm tired to see games that looked like a smarth phone or a snes game era.

I don't mind this ports, but as a long Nintendo fan, I would like more "innovation" rather than nostalgic.

I'm guessing it's purely because they didn't feel the need to, they know people will buy it anyway.

This. Nintendo is refusing to put any effort into it because they know they don't have to. It's the same bullshit why pokemon was stagnant for almost a decade before Sword and Shield (and we lost the national dex)

They KNOW the remakes and fan projects like from nimSony are better and they know it will be a threat to their lazy effortless status quo. Don't even get me started how Animal Crossing New Horizons was missing New Leaf features on day 1 so they can make an excuse to release "content" quarterly.

Dick moves like this including their recent one of purposely limiting supply and stopping digital sale to empower scalpers and inflate their fiscal end of year profits (which coincidentally ends on March '21) makes me not feel bad for pirating.

Seriously, fuck Nintendo

I think this can be put to bed....
The switch is basically the Wii U but revised model does it lack innovation yes but it brings in $$$. I dont blame NIntendo look at Rockstar with GTA V

$$$ > Innovation

Along as the cash flow keeps running it will always be like this. Veteran Players are not their main source of income the new players are. Think of it like high-school some kids graduate and move on to better but new kids come in to take their place.

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it

Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.
