Hacking noob-How to update Atmosphere from 0.13.0 to 0.14.1

Hi,
I am new to CFW. My friend helped me out to jailbreak my switch and now i want to update it to Atmosphere v 0.14.1 from 0.13.0. I already tried doing it but got really confused after loading the necessary files into SD card. When i selected "Launch" from the Hekate menu, from the next screen i selected "Atmosphere emuMMC" but it ended up with a critical error but when i ran it selecting "Fusee" the switch boot properly but i could not run any games that were installed before. Did I do anything wrong here?

You probably launched CFW on sysNAND using fusee and you don't have signature patches for using unsigned stuff. I don't use emuMMC, so can't really help on that.

Was emuMMC even properly set up before?

Having no knowledge on what you are doing is a bad way to start messing with cfw... Go and read what sysNAND CFW and emuNAND CFW are and decide what you want to use. You are now on CFW sysNAND (S represents sysnand at the end of current version) and as i said before to use "pirated" stuff you need signature patches. Go and get the latest ones on this forum using search. But before that be sure to read a proper guide about common switch cfw related stuff, first links in google will help you.

Its an awful habit of using a switch that was cracked by someone else and not having any knowledge how cfw even works...

You need to understand that launching emuMMC won't work because you need to setup emuMMC before you can use it. When you use Hekate to launch Atmosphere either via emuMMC or sysMMC, it uses the fss0 method of booting Atmosphere. This matters because there are 2 different set of patches depending on how you boot Atmosphere. The other method involves using the bootloader that ships with Atmosphere by default which is fusee, more specifically fusee_primary. This is what you are launching, or chainloading, when you select "Fusee" in Hekate. Finally, the reason your games only work under "Fusee" is most likely because you have the patches for fusee rather than Hekate/fsso.
