Wiping phone and laptop clean

I’m looking to sell an iPhone Seven plus and an old laptop. But need to wipe all the data first. Any free programs you guys can recommend for either task? Thanks.

Just reinstall windows on the os, and factory wipe the phone

Windows 10 has an option to do a full wipe (running HDD with 00000s before reinstall) in the settings (under Restore, which is in Update and Security, IIRC). Run that, it'll completely wipe the drive so no one can restore files and reinstall Windows for you.

For your iPhone, make sure you remove your iCloud account before doing anything (if applicable), and then just use the built in reset option in settings. iDevices use a physical security chip to encrypt data automatically, but the encryption key is reset once the device is reset (and iCloud removed) so that's all you'll need to do there to securely wipe your iPhone

I recommend you remove your drive of the laptop and either buy a new one or sell it without drive. You can't wipe every data from your harddrive.

Format the drive, reinstall OS and then wipe MFT it's not that hard. Just takes a while if the drive is slow.

(also pretty sure OP doesn't need to remove ALL TRACES of this files)

But yeah selling it without the drive is an option. Most people buying a laptop are gonna want one with a ssd or are going to put one in it.
