I bring sad news to this forum sadly. I think Mat would post this eventually here and someone has even posted the screenshots already. But I'll post them again.

If you want a sort of TL: DR, read the next sentence. I highly suggest you don't anyways, it will be more clear if you read everything, it won't take way too much time.

Mat has sadly been hit with a Cease and Desist from Nintendo's lawyers regarding the DragonInjector project on July 13th. This led to a huge amount from silence from them on their Discord for over a month, until today. Mat does not have and want shell out a few thousands to take the Big N to court just to explain what they are doing is just a hobby and not some sort of thingamabobber modchip for piracy. Mat was led to silence from Nintendo after speaking to their lawyers.
Mat has come to the conclusion to comply with the C&D and make changes for the better or worse, however you want to take it. Mat will be refunding anyone who had received a DOA (Dead On Arrival) DragonInjector and had already opened a support ticket. Anyone who broken their DragonInjector shell within their 90 day warranty will get some sort of credit. (If any of this applies to you, please join this Discord I will link at the bottom of thread and contact Mat ASAP!)
As much as it sucks, don't contact Mat for anything about purchasing a shell or actual DragonInjector, they have already explored all options already.
As for the DragonMMC, all payload function has been removed but all other features will remain. They also making some changes to the chipset for possible bluetooth/wifi functionality.
I'll be just pasting this next sentence since it's short and sums this part up;
I've also begun new project - DragonDSI. This project aims to add a micro-HDMI port to the Switch Lite. It will be restricted to 720P output with stereo audio, since it will be diverting the internal LCD and headphone audio when a cable is connected.
Mat will be registering a business to work on other things and changing the website from DragonInjector to DragonicMods Inc. Mat will also be expanding the Discord server beyond what it currently is for a lot more and all sorts of things (read the screenshots!). Mat will also start streaming and make tutorial videos for various topics (Ex. Console Repair.)

That's all for the TL: DR. Read the screenshots for more detailed info!

So how does he think he’ll add a mini hdmi to the lite when there’s no video chip?

From what he said, I don't think a chip is needed. It is just redirecting the signal that goes to the screen and audio that goes to earphone plug to HDMI. Why couldn't Nintendo do this? Sadly this will require soldering.

He should not include MOD in the company name at all, instead of DragonMod Inc, it should be somethinc more generic like DragonElectronics Inc.

Lastly both the software and hardware design of DragonInjector was open source? Anyone download the schematics? Maybe china or other country that it is legal can take over.

Add a PCB with a video chip, maybe?

Because most likely there is traces or configurations for it inside?

The LCD in the Lite uses the MIPI DSI protocol. There are ICs that exist to convert MIPI DSI to HDMI. My plan is to use the Lontium LT8912B to do so, with a supporting chip to add in headphone audio downstream using a good ADC chip built for that. I'd be using the HDMI hotplug detect feature to switch between the internal LCD and the HDMI port using a high speed switch IC like the Pi3 in the regular Switch. The hotplug detect would also trigger the headphone detection on the headphone jack.

So, plug in HDMI, Switch LCD goes black, HDMI starts to output. Switch thinks headphones are plugged in, routes audio to the jack, which the ADC picks up and adds to the HDMI output.

Obviously right now it's just a concept and things can change, but, on paper it looks doable. If I do it right, soldering might not be required, since the LCD connector should have everything needed to power the board - it would end up sitting in between the LCD and the mainboard.

At some point, cowering to the lawyers doesn't make sense any more, and I would argue avoiding a term like "mod" is that point. "Mods" aren't inherently illegal, and they're the best way to describe these projects. I'm not about to change my newly registered business name just over that. :P

Wow, Nintendo just keeps being the pieces of shit they are, as usual.
I was following this project quite closely, and while I already have an RCM Dongle myself, what Mat was doing was quite original and unique.

Then comes Shitendo to just fuck with people, as they love to do.

Seriously, Nintendo, you are really making it hard for me to keep paying and even supporting any of your shit with this attitude.
Good thing I will not drop another penny on them going forward.

PC and emulation, baby! After all, a good PC can emulate the latest Nintendo console lol

Nintendo has sent a warning to MatinatorX, the developer of the DragonInjector, asking him to stop development and operation and destroy all devices.

The DragonInjector is an open source payload injector for the Nintendo Switch based on the Trinket M0. It is kept in a GameCard-like case and can therefore be easily stowed away at any time.

In the warning (PDF) that has now been published, Nintendo uses the same assertion as with other homebrews: The Injector can be used to circumvent the console's "technical protective measures" and thus Nintendo's copyright, as it enables unauthorized copies to be played. This is led by another threat that the company has already won a similar case in court and the other side had to pay twelve million Canadian dollars.

Furthermore, MatinatorX must disclose the supply chain, report the number of units sold and profit made, and destroy all devices in its possession. In a Discord posting, the developer states that he does not have enough money to take action against the arbitrary decision and that it was best, in coordination with his lawyer, to give up the project.

MatinatorX will continue to work on other projects under the name "DraconicMods".
