@Gericom I just tested this out with your 800px commit included. My goodness what a revelation. This is simply incredible, incredible work. It’s flawless on my N3DS. What an incredible gift to us all. Thank you.

This 800px mode should be standard for all homebrew. The image has never looked so sharp on my N3DS.
The 3DS and New 2DS have such a weird pixel matrix that 800px is really transformative, it makes 3D games have smoother edges and pixel art looks a hell of a lot better, even textures are improved. What a dream it would be if more games used it.

Who knows, maybe it would be possible to create patches for games to make them run in that mode? That could be pretty awesome

how do i open cmd in the folder ?? i mean how do i open the file and extract the z64 to make the cia for N3DSXL im little confused here

Appreciate the 800px update. Was able to do a few small speedrun tricks so controls so thumbs up from me on the control end. However I very quickly took c up and down off the analog nub after accidentally zooming in one too many times. I don't know if I've ever thought of that control nub more at any point playing the N3DS.

Hi. I am the developer of the previous 3DS port that was posted earlier. I can answer some questions about my project here. I am looking to get into contact with Gericom, ideally through Discord or something similar since I am new to GBAtemp.
Love the port. Thanks for your hard work! Hopefully between you guys you can get sound working (although it's not a huge issue)!

Just follow this depending on the platform of your choice.
Thank you!! I followed this guide but I can't seem to figure out where to put the github files now. Do you press 'make' before or after you put the files in? and where should I be putting the n64 file? Does it need to be named anything in specific? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I wonder if 800xp resolution would really do much of a difference on my regular size New 3DS.
I have been playing the game on the N64 emulator for 3DS and I love playing the game on the origonal native pixel perfected resolution. I would love to do the same on my New 3DS with the port but with widescreen.

You can disable both 800px wide and antialiasing in src/pc/gfx/gfx_3ds.h
Note that the 'N' in N3DS_USE_ANTIALIASING and N3DS_USE_WIDE_800PX doesn't mean NEW, but NINTENDO :p. I might change it since some people were confused by it.

The answer is Yes. It is noticeably crisper.

Hey @Gericom I have tried swapping Luigi SD model and textures are broken. I just have replaced assets and it builds properly. Any idea? Mario DS SD works fine.

Luigi HD, a far more complex mod (new collisions, animations, sounds, etc), works fine tho. Weird.

I think I might be able to move sound mixing to the dsp to improve performance on old 3ds models. I hope loading custom (unsigned) dsp binaries won't be an issue.
How likely would it be to get an Old 3DS version running at a locked 30 fps? All I have is an Old 3DS, and it definitely doesn't work too well right now. :'v

Since this new Mario 64 port is based on the de-compiled, source-available PC port, it would seem feasible that certain features in the DS remake could be backported, or rather, recreated, under the free engine. I've never played the DS remake so I'm afraid I'm limited in knowledge as to what those features are, but I've heard that in the DS remake you can play as Wario.

Just for reference in the DS remake you could play as Mario/Luigi/Wario and Yoshi there was 30 more power stars to collect a few new worlds were added some existing stages were totally changed. There was also 36 mini games added and more that I can't remember lol.

That would be amazing to try and fix the performance for old 3ds model users hopefully it doesn’t take too long to come out with this fix, I’ll basically be stalking this page till it is out
