Hacking Question regarding Ps3 superslim jailbreak

I know that Ps3 superslim is now jailbreakable, I have a couple questions:

- What's the best way to do that?

- HEN or HAN? What's the difference?

- What's the game format I should use?

- How can I play directly from hard drive. (I know there's a 4GB USB limit)?

- What are the must have apps that I should install?

- If I jaibreak it would my DVDs still work on it?

You should follow PSX-Place guide on installing latest HFW and HEN

For playing games, if you put them on the PS3 HDD, you can install them using PKG or use webMan/IrisMan and put all your ISO games in the PS3ISO folder, either on internal or external HDD (you can use NTFS for an external drive that will remove the 4 GB limit or use software like PS3 ISO Tools that can split them)

For the must have apps:
- reactPSN or PSNPatch to install rap files (PSNPatch is way easier to use)
- PSNPatch or SENEnabler if you want to play online while HEN is enabled (not sure if it works on HEN, that's how I do on CFW)
- You may use the NoPSN versions of some official apps like YouTube
- Movian if you use your PS3 as a Media Center

When HEN is not enabled, you can use your PS3 as you would do normally, so everything works as if it's not jailbroken (note that you can load your DVD even when HEN is enabled)

I can't give you much advice on HEN as I've not used it, I only helped a friend to set it up, but it mostly works like a PS3 with a CFW.
The best is to read the whole post on PSX-Place, that's where you will find updated info and all advices on HEN

Quick one: My internet can be very slow sometimes (can't even reach 1mb per second).

Will I be able to install PKG files from external hard drive to the PS3 hard drive ? Or there's no other way to put PKG games in the PS3 HDD except FTP.

Would this make using We man/Irisman and ISO files my best option?

You can install PKG from an external hard drive (can even be an USB key) if it's formatted as FAT32 (just put them at the root of the drive), if your drive is formatted as NTFS, you can mount them via webMan or IrisMan and install them.
If your PS3 drive has a lot of storage (surely has since it's a recent model), you should just install games on your PS3 HDD using either PKG or just by moving ISOs in it (using IrisMan, it's really easy)

Sounds great thanks a lot for the reply. Unfortunately it's only a 12gb version lol I was surprised 12gb is even a size, but I have a 320GB from an old laptop so will change the hard drive.

Those have 12gb of non removable flash storage, and wont take a hard drive without a caddy / adapter, which is a separate purchase.

Then my best option would be to play them as ISO from external hard drive using Webman?

I'd say so, webman is great. You can also do a network setup where you'd keep all your ISOs in a NAS, although i haven't tried this myself. Or just look for the hdd caddy on ebay...

Thanks, I actually seen some low budget tutorial where the guy used cardboard so no need for caddy.

Just to share my experience for peeps to benefit (install latest apps):

- Get an old HDD install it on your super slim, add some cardboard so that it doesn't move inside.

- Install HEN and Webman (full version by holding L2 then pushing X).

- To install PKGs put them in any NTFS hard drive and put the RAP files in another Fat32 flash drive.

- Activatet HEN then open PrepISO in WebmanGames folder.

- Plug both hard drive and flash drive.

- Go to Blueray folder in WebmanGames.

- Install package.

Done.

You can play now your backups.

HI. i am having problems with my ps3. I am running HEN 3.01 and all of a sudden it doesn't want to install any pkg files, not even multiman or HEN toolbox. I am getting error code 8001003a and i even restored PS3 file system to start from scratch but still the same problem but now i only have HEN on it and can't install multiman or webman or any games as well not even toolbox. please help
