As the title suggests, perhaps there could be a way to restrict specific users from writing messages on one’s profile?
The only ways to do this so far are either ignoring a user, or making it so only users you follow can write on your profile.
However, ignoring a user, as others have said, “comes with its own issues. Namely: Not being able to see any of their other posts.”
And only giving access to people you follow. Well, you would just have to follow tons of users and just exclude however many of them you have an issue with.
It would be useful, if it were possible.
And that’s all there is to this.

As a note, you still can see the posts of users you ignore, there's a button at the bottom of threads by the "Check for new posts" button to show ignored content, so you can still see them if you wanted to for whatever reason. Same for threads they make in a section, next to the New Thread button.

But I don't think there's a way in Xenforo for a user to specifically block a single users from specifically posting on your profile page.

That doesn't apply to status updates/comments though, they disappear completely and you have no signs they ever existed unless you check while logged out or remove the ignore list entry.

The bottom of the page for a user's profile and the new profile posts page have the show ignored content button too

Except that's wrong, there's also a button to show ignored content on your profile page.

The only place where the ignore function actually doesn't work is in questions, and for blog and review comments and that's it.

Interesting! I haven't had someone on my ignore list for a while, so either it didn't exist back then or I just missed it (Which is very possible)
Thanks for the clarification, sorry for assuming.
