booting neutOS from payload (without hekate) should work.
I don't know what's wrong sorry.

users with that problem were usually using the wrong patches, or missing some of the new patches.
it should be working if you update everything. someone else could have an idea?

tried NeutOS by itself once again, just to be sure, and the game doesn't even start :( If I install with Goldleaf it gives me that "unable to play software" from the start. If I install with tinfoil, it checks for unplayable downloadable content before giving the same message...

By the way, thanks for you amazing guide here. It really helps clarify lots of things.

So I tested FETH w/update v1.2.0 and Wave 4 DLC on OFW 10.0.2 w/Atmosphere v12 and the fusee-primary/neutos loader patches. Everything works normally.

I can test NeutOS, but there are no functional differences between NeutOS and vanilla Atmosphere after booting right now, so that would be fairly pointless.

Remember that DLC sometimes requires updating the base title. For FETH that means updating to v1.2.0. Besides that, there must be some issue on your end with either missing sigpatches or missing updates or something.

Wow! Youre'se such a good person that you even tested the game for me! thank you very much!

However, I tried exactly what you said (and lots of other things) and it's not working... My game and Switch are just like you described right now. If I try to start the game, Switch checks if software can be played, tells me there are unplayable dlc and let me start the game, but I can only play my old savefiles, from before dlc installation back then, which means I could even start a new game. Savefiles where I already accessed dlc content can't be played... Just to be sure, you tried to run a savefile where you had already accessed wave 4?

I'm down to a point that I think something on my Switch got corrupted just for FETH DLCs when I first updated from 9.10 to 10.0.0 because just after that my cfw wouldn't start giving me crashes during startup until I formated my sd card and replaced everything... Which means it wouldn't be a formatting problem. My sd is new and fat32, by the way.

My last resorts are
- making a ticketless NSP for reinstalling game, update and dlcs. Just to test.
- entering and leaving maintenance mode, as I heard some ppl fixed some issues like mine doing that

Once again, thanks for trying to help!

Just out of curiosity have you tried installing it is an NSP? That CR–23 is telling me that it’s an NSZ. Perhaps the NSZ files are being problematic?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

this is the filename I've been installing:
Fire Emblem Three Houses [v327680][010055D009F78800][US][CR-23].nsp

I'm just installing it through usb using the latest tinfoil-nut/goldleaf-quark/awoo-nsusbloader as I always did. In fact, I redownloaded the file some times to test, but even the file I used before when I played the game back then won't work...

Are there any other ways to clear traces of an installed game/update/dlc from your Switch other than deleting saves and unistalling game from "Manage Software" option (or through tinfoil/goldleaf/awoo) and removing ticktets on the same installers?

I was finally able to fix the game.

As it should be working on NeutOS and its included patches, I kept trying on it, even though the game wasn't even starting when I tried on it before.

- First I uninstalled the game and removed every ticket and savefiles.
- After that, I entered Maintenance Mode (with AutoRCM enabled - I held both vol buttons as soon as I injected NeutOS payload untill MM booted) and left just turning power off, without doing anthing there. After that I injected the payload again and booted NeutOS.
- Then, with tinfoil, I installed game and update only, and the game started working on NeutOS (which means some traces were left corrupted in the system even after uninstalling and removing tickets)! Installing all the wave 4 dlcs after that lead to another error when booting the game (2002-4144), so I uninstalled everything and followed the steps above once again untill installing game and update.
- After that, I installed each dlc separetedly considering their version order with "reinstall NCAs" option turned on, testing the game after each installment, but I didn't install [Additional Story Content +], as it was conflicting with [Side Story Cindered Shadows]. Both came with Wave 4 when I downloaded, but it seems that Cindered Shadows has the first inside it too...
- After that, everything is working normally once again! After almost 2 weeks of hundreds of attempts, I can finally play my old savefile with everything unlocked!

I didn't mean that this thread would have so much about this (sorry!), but I hope my findings can help someone who search for "Checking whether the software can be played" and "Unplayable downloadable content was found" in the future. Thank you guys once again!

thanks for reporting and giving your solution.
how do you remove ticket ? devmenu? or homebrew title installers can do it?

I used tinfoil and goldleaf to remove them. Sometimes they appeared on one but not on the other, but GL seems to be better on this case. It's strange.. XD

I don't know if you need to update the first post but:

NeutOS has been discontinued in favor of ReiNX, as it has returned to fulfill the role that NeutOS set out to fill.
You can find ReiNX's source code at https://github.com/Reisyukaku/ReiNX
There will also be a binary release of ReiNX rehosted here for people who use neutos-updater to be able to transition to it.
Note: ReiNX does not support emummc/emunand currently.

Just use Atmos there's no downside compared to Neutos.
yeah, i use hekate to chainload fusee primary and run tinfoil no issues.
vanilla all the way
not sure if that’s because i have a valid sx license.dat on sd root to avoid tinfoil drm but whatever

NeutOS (or ReiNX) was only a third option.
There are still the other two boot methods, and it's finally a choice between : tinfoil or not ?

if you don't use tinfoil, use whatever boot method, you can even have both at the same time. users probably use Kosmos and fss0.
If you need sysMMC tinfoil, use primary or ReiNX
if you need emuMMC tinfoil, use primary, or wait for ReiNX update.

NeutOS github owner could have kept the binary releases, or at least until ReiNX has emu support.
NeutOS was mainly for tinfoil compatibility, but Blawar don't like emu at all, Tinfoil might even remove support altogether. so I guess ReiNX sysMMC only is just enough for that decision. If emu support is ever removed, all users using emu might have to go back to sys if they want tinfoil.
