Stadia Connect April livestream announcement roundup

Stadia has been free as of late, letting players experience Google's game streaming platform. New games are finally headed to the service, after a dearth of news, as revealed by the latest Stadia Connect livestream. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Madden NFL, and FIFA will be available for purchase on Stadia later this year, with more EA games to follow into next year. Square Enix's Octopath Traveler also launches today for $59.99.

Other game reveals were shown, such as Rock of the Ages III, coming this June. The Turing Test, Spitlings, Steamworld Dig 2, and Zombie Army 4: Dead War will be May's free games to try, for those on the Stadia Pro plan. First on Stadia is Crayta, a game that lets players build things together, heads to the service this Summer. Wave Break will also be a timed exclusive, launching this Summer as well. Embr is a game about saving people from burning buildings in a funny way, this May. Get Packed is playable first on Stadia and is a co-op game where you pack up objects in a building and take them out.

PUBG is available today on Stadia. Just like all other Stadia games, no downloads or updates needed, and you can play cross-play with other platforms. It's also free for Pro members.

That's still an abysmal library of games. Unless Google changes their strategy Stadia is just going to be another tombstone in the massive graveyard that is their failed projects.

Imagine you don't really like liver and onions.
But then this new chef comes telling you he has the best liver and onions the world will ever see.
You decide to give it a try, why not... then this liver and onions not only smells like crap, but it's also dry and burned.

Along with the "real" game systems like the 3DO, Phillips "Muh boi" CD-i, Atari Jaguar, Sega 32XXX, the Ouya, N-Gage, etc..

and this is why the better service was arbitrarily crippled by greedy devs looking to double dip on sales, stadia might have been a moderate success if they had taken a similar approach to Geforce now and battle out for the space, but google had to pander to the worst instincts of game developers and publishers and offered them something that should really have been an option to them, or at least should've only been an optional feature/service i.e import your steam games and/or purchase a copy through stadia itself, to try make a whole new distribution model only stands to cripple the idea of steaming as a viable option for many

I seriously hope Stadia dies soon. No one wants to pay for a game that's full price when you could get the game on Steam for half the price. I just have no fucking clue what's going through their minds when they thought this was okay! Of course companies like EA or Activision won't see any problem. This is just another another way for them to pretty much rob other people.

Hate to say it, because I don't want to be a downer, but this is looking to be another Google+.

They should have just went the Netflix route, even if for only old games. Also, as people have mention, let you play games you already bought.

How many of the people that are bitching in this thread have actually tried Stadia out for themself?

damn octopath being 60$ game on stadia plus service fee
See, posts like those? You don't have to ever pay the service fee if you don't want to. It's like ps+, or games with gold.

With my next payment I'm thinking about buying Doom Eternal on Stadia, becuase guess what? It works very well for me, and I don't have any limits on how much I can Download each month.

The Game Library is pretty lackluster though. And they are still not supporting iOS device for Streaming, which is a major bummer for me.

I have a friend that plays stadia (because it's free now for some time) since he has no gaming pc. He says he had no problem with it, and latency hasn't been a problem for the moment. So good for him that more games shows up, that makes me really glad.

I actually have tried it and currently have a subscription (only because Google has made it free during the pandemic, though sadly did not make the games free except 4 of them).

I still agree with all the posts.
