Hi all,

Sorry to sound like a complete NOOB, well, that's because I am! I have a FAT PS3 that I'm trying to install CFW on. It doesn't have a BR drive because it's damaged so I removed it. I'm having issues installing CFW on it, it gets so far and crashes! I've never installed CFW on a PS3 before - I've installed CFW on other consoles so I'm not completely useless.

I just want to install it, run PKG and download some games :)

Any pointers would be awesome!

Cheers :D

Have you tried Rebug nobd CFW?

All the options within the recover menu are greyed out. If I carry on and select one, it doesn't see the HDD. I've tried two different drives too. If I remove the HDD, it knows there isn't one present which is odd.

I'm completely stumped and can't find an answer anywhere. I think I'll admit defeat and bin it today!

Can't tell from a picture but all the options are greyed out and not white like it should be.

What firmware is on it now? I'm guessing it's OFW?

Even if the Blu ray drive is damaged, you could have removed the drive but still left the Bluray daughterboard plugged.

If you still have the drive, leave it connected until you get CFW on it.
