Hi Guys

My son's N3DS has been working fine up until today when he informs of an error he's getting:

"An exception occurred

Processor: ARM11 (core 1)
Exception: data abort
Fault status: Translation - Section
Current process: boss"

The console boots up for about 10 seconds, then the above error occurs.

I read through some related threads, and tried a video on youtube to no avail.

I've tried:
- replacing files / folders apart from Nintendo 3ds
- transfer CTR nand
- delete folder 0000098 (as it's a European console)
- enable game patching and show nand

The only thing I haven't tried is disabling the ARM 11 handler, as it seems this could cause more damage than it's worth (possible brick).

Anyone got any suggestions?

Any help is much appreciated.

Do you know what was going on with the console before this error showed?

It just boots up like normal to the menu where you can see icons etc...

There was the message to update the software*

Then the error occurs.

*I since tried CTR nand transfer, which has eliminated the update message, but still get the same error

That seems to have resolved the issue @Confusion_18 - thank you so much.

Now have to install everything again ....
Don't reinstall CIAs as this will overwrite and delete all of your son's saves. Check if the titles missing in HOME Menu is due to missing tickets or damaged SD card's database files title.db & import.db [1][2].

Thanks @TurdPooCharger , I have started installing yet... too tired last night (just glad the error was sorted).

The titles show in data management, not on the home menu - is there an easy way to restore them without reinstalling everything?

Some pre checks carried out from a previous thread:
- SD card is fine and accessible in GodMode9
- all games are showing in data management and marked with X's
- firmware shows as "Ver 11.13.0-45E", i assume this is EmuNand as there is no "Sys"

faketik app by ihaveamac for missing tickets. Cant link, away from keyboard.
Thanks, will start googling :-)

think emunand just says EMU. if it says ver, you're not in luma.

Cthulhu if you don't feel like unwrapping gift icons.

Edit 1 - forgot to add. You have to take care of anti-cheat gamesave restore, secure value.

There's a specific nand file to delete to reset this.

Edit 2 - Back.

In GodMode9, delete this file to prevent games like Super Smash and Pokemon from erasing their saves. Secure values can change and be mismatched after restoring the SysNAND image and certain forms of CTRTransfer.
  • [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND/<ID0>/data/sysdata/00010011/00000000 → press (X) → etc.

That's cool, I did wonder if they was a way - didn't take too long to unwrap them all... Will keep the above mind for future though :)
