Hi I would like to ask if anyone also encounter this error...

I downloaded the latest tinfoil io and nut.exe. I am currently using AM 10.2 with 9.1 firmware complete with sigpatches.
I already installed the new tinfoil driver. Every time I would try to access NSP or NSZ from the file browser this happens

routing to getFileSize
usbresponse write
sending 203 bytes
begin recv
read complete
receiving 116 bytes
url api/fileSize/Downloads/It%20came%20from%20space%20and%20ate%20our%20brains%5B01002E501015A000%5D%5BUS%5D%5Bv0%5D.nsz

Then the switch would return with the error cannot open nsp file.
I don't know whats wrong since previous versions of tinfoil works with my unit. For some reason the location of the nsp from the return code has % in it. Loading the NSZ or NSP from the new game or new update menu does work but the file browser has an issue.

Thanks!

I am getting a unable to start software issue doing the same updated atmosphere to 10.2 on 9.1 also. The release notes say it wont work with hekate? Does this mean it will only work in atmosphere if launched using fusee primary?

I am all ears as well. I'm having similar problems. Tinfoil won't open any NSP files, although I can still copy them over to the switch via FTP then install locally using Tinfoil with no issues.

*update - I am up and running now on V8.01

I had to delete the old tinfoil shortcut in the data management section and then reboot into fusee primary to get it to work.

You don't have to use fuslee primary, Add the following line to your hekate_ipl.ini in your bootloader folder (add it in the section for your custom firmware/emunand that you use)

kip1=atmosphere/kips/ams_mitm.kip

The reason this is required is because the developer decided to include his other application into the latest Tinfoil named Incognito, which allows you to remove your serial number from the console and go online safely without having to use 90DNS. The kip file is required to allow writing to the nand that stores the serial number to be able to blank it out, atmosphere normally blocks writing to it.

This worked perfectly thanks a lot for the detailed info! Much appreciated

Do
Everyone -
1st : DELETE ALL Tinfoil Folders, Lithium Folders, HBG Folders.
2nd : If you have not already done so, Update to Atmosphere 0.10.2
3rd : If you have not already done so, Update to 9.1.0 with the Released Update Files with the ChoiDujourNX App.

4th : Grab the latest Tinfoil Package, except, grab it from the Discord Download Section....

5th : Apparently Henkate will not work with it. So you MUST use the absolute latest Fusee Payload.

6th : When you are at the Home Screen, you must use the Applet Mode (new - Just press A on Album. Holding R will just direct you to the actual Album now) to run Tinfoil. It should say the NAND can not be read, and will direct you to Install a KIP File. Afterwards, you must FULLY shutdown, then using the Fusee, Start up.

You should now see a Tinfoil App on the Home Screen.

NOTE - To use HBG, you must go to (Options/Theme/HBG_?????)

There was another Tutorial similar to this, but they were saying to Delete EVERYTHING on the MicroSD except the Nintendo Folder. I did it without doing that. Just get rid of everything related to Tinfoil on your Card prior to doing everything. Hopefully I explained it clear enough. If any problems, let me know.
Done all of that but still gives me error during usb install.
I have no problem launching tinfoil or using it to download games from hbg or even jack.
I have a problem using it to install via nut.exe

What the hell? This is a recipe for disaster. Giving him any permission to mess with your NAND is a big mistake. What comes next? A pop-up asking if you like Trump and if you say no it erases your NAND? lol

I'm pretty sure it's only disabling cal0 protection and why the hell would any developer do that?

For OP:
@GnK23 can you send us a screenshot of the "console" tab in Tinfoil?

"Pretty sure" huh.. Is there any available source code where I can check that?
I've been informed that it removes some bis protection and some cal0 protection. As for the source code, there is none, but if you really want to test it try erasing your nand with the kip. It won't work.

@blawar can solve this by merely disabling the Incognito/Firmware tabs if the kip isn't found. It's evident in this thread that there are people who don't want to use it.

Thank you for the hard work.

I see. You do you, bro! :)
I'm not sure what you mean. I asked in a certain discord I am not allowed to mention what protections does the kip disable and that's the answer I got. I only included that part because I said "I'm pretty sure it only disables cal0 protection". And you also completely ignored the rest of the reply.

anyone know why JITS does not work on SX installer? error pops up saying version of tinfoil is outdated and not compatible with JITS. Please update Tinfoil to version 8.0

I could never get hbg to load in sx installer but always had JITS working until now.....

I have version 8.01 of Tinfoil running on SX OS software, but just curious about this error
