Hacking [EZ-Flash Jr] "2 File system error!"

Hello..

I just bought this new linker for GBC, and despite the respect of the instructions (32 files maximum, including folders, at the root of the SD, and 100 files max per folder), I get the message '2 File system error" on some folders (not all). I checked the special characters in the folder file names, but I don't see anything different from the working folders. Any ideas?

Filenames are not very long, but there are indeed special characters such as ( ) ' , .
That said, it works in other folders. Will this be fixed in a future update?
It works very well on the EZ-Flash Omega cartridge I have with the special characters in the GBA roms names as well.
The goal is to put the full set of renamed GB/GBC roms with the Cowering's goodtool on the SD card.

I guess the file names of 100 games cannot exceed GB 8K memory

It seems to me that these limitations do not exist on other linkers, correct me if I'm wrong.
I really hope this will be corrected, otherwise I'll be disappointed I didn't buy the everdriveGB !
I want to put ALL GB/GBC games, without restrictions.

Because EZJR supports Chinese fonts, other similar flash cards do not need to support Chinese fonts.

Then everdriveGB does not support file sorting, EZJR supports file sorting

If EZJR removes the above two functions, then the problems you encountered should not occur.

However, the EZ-flash team is a Chinese team, and it is estimated that the Chinese kernel will be updated as a priority

I was able to get it to work, you can keep ( ), but get rid of any [ ] !, and short the names... especially on the hack ones. After I did that, I was able to put the amount permitted per folder. It work just like the Everdrive version.

In my sd card i have 24 folders, in each folder 30-40 roms with short names. Half folders work, others give 2 file sys error. How can i solve this problem? Sorry for my bad english.

if you got error, please generate a full folder tree by use "tree /f > tree.txt" in command line, then post it to pastebin.com and put the url here.

Solved by splitting by letter

Can have as many as u want

That's probly due to 8k ram

Can anyone give a clear example on how split roms in folders and subfolders, how many in each folder, the optimal lenght for rom names? In my root i have a, b, c, d, e, f and go on, in each 30-40 roms with short names, and from n to z folders always results sys error.

I have the same setup, but have my games additionally split up between GB and GBC. So on the root of the card, I have 2 folders, "GB" and "GBC" with 27 subfolders each. Up to 50 roms per folder, I think (I used the 1G1R method in clrmame to build my romset)

Thanks for the answer. But are your rom names shortened or of normal lenght? E.g. Adventure Island 2 or Adv isl 2?
