The Sonic movie's theme song is called "Speed Me Up", and is performed by Wiz Khalifa

When we first saw the original trailer to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, it featured the song Gangsta's Paradise, playing alongside the horrifying creature that was CGI-Sonic. Now, with Sonic having a visual overhaul, it appears that the movie's theme song has been changed as well. There's a new theme song in town, called Speed Me Up, performed by rapper Wiz Khalifa. It's accompanied by a music video, which has multiple references and homages to the Sonic series, both in its lyrics and its visuals. It won't be much longer until the movie finally releases, on February 14th.

The song is catchy and the sonic bits in the video are pretty cool, but who knew that 80's grunge style outfits would be a thing in 2020's rap videos?

Edit: The BEAT is catchy. The song, ehh.

dont like it at all, i prefer gangsta paradise that was on the first trailer lol.

Is this supposed to be a Sonic movie or a sonic weapon?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Dear Paramount, may I recommend something more palatable and thematically appropriate?

Why didn't they just use the same butt rock band they used for Sonic Adventure/Battle and a bunch of other games? Their stuff is super cheesy, but it's fitting enough for Sonic and it's become closely associated with the franchise by now.

This is the company that gave us the original 3d models we all laughed at/cringed hard at. Do you honestly expect them to have that kind of awareness/eye (or ear as the case may be) for quality?

Also ew Sonic Adventure.

The title "speed me up"... Slowest song ever...

They should have sticked with rock music as they always have... And this is coming from someone who doesn't like rock band music. I like Pop/rap music, but this is theme song is trash compared to the other Sonic games.

Not an ear for quality necessarily, but at least be able to discern whether a tune is catchy on a basic level or not. Granted that's probably still asking too much.

First one was god awful but Adventure Battle 2 was at least solid for a 3D Sonic title at the time. The franchise didn't have any truly good ones until Generations.

I'm a large rap head, and even I can admit that this song is mediocre at best. Remove Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child and this song would actually be a 7/10 to me. In this state, its more like a 5.

It's okay, I just personally don't like it.

Real thing is, why not just let Crush 40 do the song? Theyer songs are perfect for a kid movie especially.

SONIC HEROS! SONIC HEROES! SOOOOOONIIIIC HEEEERRRROEEESSSS!

The music is one of the few things that does not suck on new Sonic games.

But this.. .

Honesty why they have to use rap? They could have used something retro and very 90s like Sonic Heroes main theme. Or a remix of the Sonic Adventure theme.
