The Sonic movie's theme song is called "Speed Me Up", and is performed by Wiz Khalifa

When we first saw the original trailer to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, it featured the song Gangsta's Paradise, playing alongside the horrifying creature that was CGI-Sonic. Now, with Sonic having a visual overhaul, it appears that the movie's theme song has been changed as well. There's a new theme song in town, called Speed Me Up, performed by rapper Wiz Khalifa. It's accompanied by a music video, which has multiple references and homages to the Sonic series, both in its lyrics and its visuals. It won't be much longer until the movie finally releases, on February 14th.

Did somebody said Khalifa?

never heard of Lil Yachty before and I can't understand a damn word he is saying, is this mumble rap?
Actually no. He is just hard to understand. Mumble rap is a lot more droney and actually sounds mumbly
LiL Yachty is a meme because of this (I'm surprised they would ge thim for this but it is a sonic movie)
this is a favorable examply of mumble rap imo

It's got a good speedy beat to it - I'd of liked to hav heard mayb at the end of the song the sonic end of level complete jingle

So awful beat, worse sampling (did they just fire random game samples off at random during that), lyrics of no particular meaning or notable delivery and a video that while technically is pixel art is nothing like the games which you have a reference for directly in the video.

Just to have something vaguely amusing in this

not a fan, sounds like stoner music, I would expect something more upbeat, playful and energetic, sounds like some random stoners were held at gunpoint to make a song about sonic and given a few sonic buzz words to drop in at random

I mean they probably could've held that lawsuit over Soulja boy for selling pirated games and got something more upbeat ....probably shill his souljagame while he was there

Mumbly, auto-tuned talking. Is this rap? It's just kind of cringey to me, but I'll listen to it a few more times. Sometimes it takes a while. But It ain't no sunflower, that's for sure.

Buuuut it's better than just using whatever popular 90s music is available to them.
