Why they even try to update to Switch 2 or Pro... they should make more money by releasing games not new versions of console, they still could port GameCube games, n64 etc...

Technology moves forward what you want the same tech for another 6 years cmon thts just silly ther already behind in tech- nintendo should be giving u a switch pro within 6 months - we would prefer new games on better hardware than the N64 gamecube stuff but why can't they giv us both

I know is fake but 2021 ??? Isn't that too early for a new console? This is a Ripoff, one day new consoles will come out every year just like iPhones..

Compared to Sony and Xbox after 3yrs they had a bump ,but looking at what Xbox is thinking they seem to be going with multiple system versions to cater to all types of gamers ,but for Nintendo being a hybrid now you're never going to get more than 1080p in handheld because it's just a waste with what the eye can only see , so they will probably go the apple route of better screen, efficiency and storage until Streaming is the Norm which should be in the next 10yrs but knowing Nintendo they will still try and cater to low tech world

If Switch 2 is true.. I won't buy it unless it should have a powerful machine and the competitive against PS5 and XBOX Series X with a 3rd party supporting and of course, a brand new AAA games in development. Otherwise, forget it for the next underpowered system. Nintendo is going to be my last chance.. One more or Nintendo is out until the next emulator, heh.

The nvidia shield tablet (what the switch is based off) is already 4k, their is no reason why we shouldn't have 4k switches already
??? The Nvidia Shield Tablets have had 1920x1200 displays, and don't even output at 4k on external displays. The only Shield devices capable of 4k are the Shield TV and Shield TV Pro.

it does output 4k, i have one.

Ok, I'm reading conflicting info about it now. However, the Switch is actually not really based on it anyway. The switch uses what should be a better processor, based on the Tegra X1, but I believe it's underclocked.

The Shield Tablets are using Tegra K processors. The Switch is more similar to the Shield TV than Shield Tablets in terms of specs. They may be capable of 4K docked, but I highly doubt it'd be a fantastic experience given the specs, form factor, plus the apparent underclock.

The X1 can definitely handle 4K video output, but realtime 3D is a different beast that requires more processing power from both the CPU and GPU end for a pleasant experience.

Yeah, but how about power consumption? Wouldn´t a upgrade to 4K eat away a big junk of the battery?

Totally hypothetical here, but I would imagine it would only be 4K if docked, and probably 1080P in handheld mode. Though I still don't think the Tegra processors would perform well at 4K.

I do believe Nintendo will come forth with a significantly more powerful switch if they can sell it with a profit. After all this is Nintendo we are talking about.
They stopped using cutting edge technology for their consoles after the N64.

It would be about as "4K" as the PS4 pro. Which is to say, upscaled 1440p at best. Still, beats sub-1080p renders upscaled to 1080p by the Switch and then once again to 4K by the TV.

Thats called a laptop no way you will ever get it to the size of the Switch any time soon the heat and power demand in a micro factor would be about $1k to 2k cost but that's not happening

Only a small % of the world owns a 4k tv let alone a 1080p one so Nintendo has catered to more of the casual gamer 4k upscale is what they would only do until the household is at 40% which will happen alot faster since TV prices are dramatically dropping

I think Nintendo always was behind some how... not really tech company.

I do believe the follow up to the Switch will essentially be the Switch 2. But I don't believe it will be as soon as 2021, nor do I believe that the BOTW sequel will be exclusive to it.
