THIS ROMHACK IS CURRENTLY BEING ENTIRELY REWORKED. AS SUCH, THIS CURRENT VERSION/ROMHACK IS NOT SUPPORTED PAST SWORD/SHIELD 1.0, AND NO UPDATES WILL MADE. I AM USING THIS THREAD TO SHOWCASE UPDATES ON THE REWORK, WHICH WILL BE A MUCH MUCH MORE INDEPTH EXPERIENCE. PLEASE BE PATIENT UNTIL THE REWORK COMES OUT.

NOTICE: I likely will not be updating this mod to work with new patches until all of (or maybe just one of) the DLC is out. When the DLC releases, we will have a LOT more Pokemon to work for in terms of team building and editing wild Pokemon. With that in mind, I hope everyone looks forward to the DLC. Until then if you want to use this mod, please make sure you are on the base version of the game.
Context time! I made popular (But not too indepth) romhacks for SM & USUM, most notably Rising Sun & Waxing Moon. However, this time, things are different! This time I bring to you all a fully featured difficulty hack. Hundreds of Pokemon have had their Hidden Abilities made easily obtainable, stats buffed, abilities buffed, and enhanced movesets! For all of these changes & more, see the gdrive folder with the download and all documentation.

Changes:
  • All important trainers have 6 Pokemon and and are much more difficult. (Hop begins to have 6 after the 1st gym)
  • Important trainers also have manually changed movesets, abilities, natures, and even IVs and EVs assigned. They also have the smartest AI assigned to them.
  • Level curve expected to naturally provide you with high level Pokemon. Trainers will have Pokemon around and usually slightly higher leveled than that of your own. (GROSSLY SUBJECT TO CHANGE, PLEASE RELAY TO ME WHAT THE LEVEL CURVE IS LIKE IN YOUR EXPERIENCE. THIS SHOULD NOT REQUIRE AN INSANE AMOUNT OF GRINDING)
  • Hundreds of Pokemon have had their stats buffed, hidden abilities made available, and enhanced movesets. Some even have type changes, or completely new abilities available.
  • Evolution methods changed for trade Pokemon. See documentation.

Disclaimer & Important Information
  • The post game is currently unedited.
  • The wild Pokemon are currently unedited in terms of level and where they appear.
  • This has been made in mind with the exp share enabled and usage of Max Raid battles to gain exp candies. If you are falling behind in levels, go to the wild area and grind on raids. The no EXP share patch is completely optional and this hack was not made with it in mind.
  • This is a first beta release, please give any and all feedback, especially on the existing level curve.
  • I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BANNED CONSOLES. OBVIOUSLY DO NOT PLAY ONLINE WHILE USING THIS ROMHACK.
Instructions:
  • Download the Pokemon Sacred Sword & Kings Shield.rar in the gdrive folder.
  • Rename the folder in the .zip file to the proper titleid if needed. Sword: 0100abf008968000 Shield: 01008db008c2c000
  • Place this titleid folder in atmosphere\titles or sxos\titles depending on what cfw you use.
  • Launch the game with CFW active!
  • If you want only the trainer edits, go into the romfs folder and delete the folder titled "pml"

Is Mega Evolution planned on being reimplemented sometime?

Considering how the Omastar was imported from Let's Go, assumedly the mechanic could be pulled from that too as well as at the very least the Kanto Megas.

Although I have no idea how difficult that might be, but it's just a thought.
I don't see us reintroducing entire mechanics, that'd actually be more difficult than porting old mons imo.

Well that's a letdown. Though I can understand the difficulty. Either way, the Pokédex return is something I'm looking forward to, so I'll be shouting my support from the sidelines on that front. You've got this!

We haven't announced anything in terms of the changes because its mostly very minor fixes to things we forgot about. Fixing some minor evolution changes etc while we get ready for the next big version. I should've announced there was a bug fix though, looks like I forgot sorry.

We also added a new detailed list of changes we made to Pokemon.
Any eta on version exclusives? No rush just curious.
Also wondering if evolutions for kerrablast, Shelmet etc are made available in this mod without trading?

Planned Changes as pkNX & discoveries allow:
  • Add version exclusives and the unused 35 Pokemon to the wild.
  • Add back in removed moves.
  • Change Pokemarts to include exclusive items (such as Johto balls, etc)
  • Make wild Pokemon hold mints and other BP items.
  • Post game.
  • WAY DOWN THE LINE, LIKELY A YEAR FROM NOW, ADD IN EVERY MISSING POKEMON AS THE NATDEX RESTORATION GROUP EFFORT CONTINUES.

Any ETA on each of the planned changes?

Thank you for this mod, it's people like you and your team that keep us playing despite GF ignoring the audience that wants & needs more of a challenge.

Big fan so far. I tried getting back in to Pokemon with X/Y but it was too easy. It's nice actually having to think instead of mindlessly trotting out the same pokemon and hitting A repeatedly.

An ETA is whenever pkNX has its next major update, so within a month or so
I'm up to 3 badges so far. I feel for gym/rival battles their levels are too high. Maybe needs to be toned down ~2 levels.
Go do raids for like 10ish minutes and you'll be fine, also don't be afraid to camp.
I was wondering how frequent double battles are especially among gym leaders and rivals.
Double battles are only really for Hop.


Once again in regards to the "grinding" going and exploring the wild area and doing the raids it has to offer for like only 10 minutes of your time isn't grinding. I'm starting to feel as if nobody remembers what actual grinding was like in the older Pokemon games. Have the smallest amount of patience

Hey Kobazco, I have not fully played through the whole game with the mods yet, but honestly, it has made my experience many times more enjoyable with the increased difficulty of the trainers and leaders. Thank you.

The game has been a challenge and I have enjoyed it very much. I am the type of player that loves to grind and have decently leveled Pokemon before a gym battle (sometimes being over-leveled). I notice that the AI definitely likes to kick your butt and so instead of just playing with cool looking Pokemon, I feel like I need to strategize a bit more before a battle. I loved this level curve and appreciate the work you put into it.

Keeping in mind what I wanted in a mod like yours however, in possible future updates, I think I am happy with just smarter AI and fleshed out Pokemon teams. Hopefully if there are any changes in the future, I would hope that type changes and ability changes are minimal.

Also, can't wait to see any other features that will eventually be added. Would love to try them out! Keep up the good work and again, appreciate it.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying it so far. We don't plan on making any changes to Pokemon types/abilities pat what we have already done, which is all on the Pokemon Changes google doc in the folder with the download.

Hm. My trainers arent edited. The game says "sacred sword" in the switch home menu before launching it but according to the google doc the trainers levels/pokemon should be different. They are all standard though. (3 trainers so far on Route 2)

EDIT: Ok, so Hop has 4 Pokes @ the 2nd battle @ Route 2. Wooloo Lvl 10, Dottler Lvl 11 are his first two.

Hey, just started this, love the hack. Are the wild Pokemon's IVs changed at all or are they random just like in regular Sword/Shield? I gotta know because I started the game without the romhack applied and got three mons I want to be in my team in the first route.

Wild mon IVs are not changed. I don't think it's possible.
Raids for the EXP candies?

Great mod, having so much fun now with harder battles, but found a "bug"

I got an Eevee from Let's go (I know this one don't evolve), then i got another Eevee on the wild

The second Eevee, even with Max happiness don't evolve in Espeon, in anyway

I removed the mod, level up him, and got an Espeon,
