Thanks for the help last time @Draxzelex the order of things i did last time, update using choi to 9.01, create emunand, restored backup nand from before using cfw. my sys nand is now on 3.02 and emunand on 9.01. cartridge slot wont work on sysnand as to be expected. How do I update my sysnand without being banned i.e can i update my sys nand with choi and still go online? if I do this does it make any difference if I boot ofw now rather thank going into rcm mode and then disabling emunand? what folder should I save cfw stuff in on the sd card?

Thanks again for all the help

After updating my emuMMC with CoiDujoirNX it doesn't boot past the Nintendo Switch logo. What should I do now?

Looking through more of the information, I now have 2 additional SD cards, and want to keep my SysNAND as clean as possible as to reduce the chance of any kind of bans as much as possible. I plan on using one for L4T, and would I be able to use the other to run CFW on emuNAND while keeping the current one in my switch as clean as possible? or would I just need to install CFW to an EmuNAND on the main SD card? I want as much space as possible on the CFW card for games and homebrew. on top of this, the reccomended guide seems to be installing CFW to sysnand instead of emunand? what would I do differently to ensure sysNAND stays as clean as possible?

sorry if this bump is way too hasty, but i didnt know if I should start a full thread and explain my situation a bit further, especially since im trying to get all this flushed out and working by tomorrow night

I just hacked my switch with atmosphere and I got a question about the online. I bought PKMN shield and Smash (digital) before the hack. To play online those two games I need to be in sysnand and thats all or i need to do another stuff like sysnand and removing sd card etc .

Hello. Recently I have updated my Switch to firmware 9.0.1 via ChoiDujour and now my Switch will not read game cartridges. I have tried to disable the autongc in Hekate and change the settings in the .bct file but nothing has fixed the issue. Is there any way to fix this? Do I need to download the update manually without booting up Atmosphere or something?

Start with this guide
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks! I have another question, though. Is accessing the RCM absolutely required? Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but it seems like it's just a way to test compatibility with the exploits. I'm just concerned because I feel uneasy about physically tampering with the hardware. Unless every individual Switch is unique, it seems like it's work already done from the data gathered here.

I rebuild the emuMMC, still can't get past the Nintendo Switch boot logo. Please help

Edit: Thought I would use an outdated Atmosphere version, updated it and know after the Nintendo Switch boot logo I get an Atmosphere crash with error code 2162-0002 (0x4a2)

EDIT: fixed everything. my only problem now is that I can't boot with fusee-primary, however hekate works. I have to boot through fusee-primary to install incognito

Hi everyone! I have two questions that couldn't easily find an aswer to:
1) I'm trying to remove my parental controls while offline, so i found https://mkey.salthax.org/, which asks for my switch device id. Is this "safe" or could my device id be used for anything malicious?

2) I've seen a lot of talk around using lan play to go online with banned switches, but my console should theoretically still be free of ban (never went online since switching to cfw). So, is Lan play totally safe, or should i not risk it, assuming i want it to keep it free of bans?
  1. Its a site that everyone uses. If it was unsafe, it would have been reported by now
  2. LAN play requires no CFW or homebrew to utilize

If you want the 100% safest way, you can update online but this will burn fuses. If you want to update but retain your current fuse count, you can use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX. While it does carry a small ban risk, no one has been banned for having a mistmatched fuse count. Either way, you do not need to disable emuMMC when going online and Nintendo does not scan for files on the SD card.

You need a clean NAND that is free of CFW & homebrew to go online with.

It is not required if your firmware is below 4.1. The reason I linked you that guide is because walks you through both of the currently known exploits for booting CFW. The exploit you are looking for in the guide is called 'Deja Vu'.

Will I be Ban if I use homebrow offline from sisnand reboot and go online?
There is a risk

Hello! I have a physical Pokemon Sword but recently got banned (unknown if it was a cause of me going online on cfw with the game itself or other games, since I lent it to a friend) does it ban the game as well even if it is physical, or is it safe to use on another unit? Thanks!

About "Lan play", i meant using ldn_mitm. Didn't notice "Lan play" was a different thing... Is any of those things "safe" of are there ban risks involved for an unbanned console?

I have a noob question again. So context:
  • I have existing games on my SD card bought legally
I'm planning to make emuMMC and planning to use the guide from GitHub. I don't get the two partitions.
  • Will the sysNAND use the FAT32 partition?
  • Then the unallocated will be the emuMMC?
  • If I backup the NAND which partition will it go to?
  • Can I still restore my legally owned games in the sysNAND if I restore the "Nintendo" folder?
  • Is there a problem also about burning fuses when im ensuring the sysNAND is untouched?

Here is what you need to understand. Switch LAN play, as well as Xlink Kai, are services that utilize a games' built-in LAN support. In other words, they let you play LAN games through their servers without CFW or homebrew because there are games that naturally support LAN. However there are other games which do not support LAN but instead local wireless. Idn_mitm converts that local wireless to LAN but to do so requires CFW and CFW presents a ban risk.

Can a banned cfw-switch influence a non-banned(non cfw) switch if they traded (in Pokemon) from one another locally? Or will it not affect the non-cfw switch?

Noob here, i'm currently debating whether to buy an unpatched switch from ebay, or buy new and wait/hope for the patched versions to become exploitable. Any suggestions?

Noob here, I'm currently debating whether to buy a second hand used unpatched switch, or to buy new and wait/hope for a future exploit to come available. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Seems like my problems wont stop. I edited a Pokemon Shield save file with pkhex, but then the game started to freeze. I dont have a backup of the save, so I deleted the game files in the switch settings, hoewever the game keeps freezing when starting a new game and reaching a point where I can move. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Hello there

I'm trying to restore a backup of a save file for MHGU using Dev Menu

The homebrew itself found the backup and restore it, but when i go to the game, there is no data to load

Can anyone help me ?

Can a save file injection corrupt a NAND? Cause I think that is what happened to me. Gotta rebuild my emuNAND tomorrow again...

In my opinion, unpatched consoles are infinitely better than patched ones. Also as the site suggests, please refrain from double posting. The Edit button is there for a reason.

Don't use DevMenu for restoring save files. Use either Checkpoint or EdiZon.
