More Info Regarding Switch (Mariko/Lite) Mods by Team-Xecuter

ub3r1337's first impressions from a direct demo of TX upcoming new hardware mods!
SXMODS.png

ub3r1337 recently meet with TX to have them demo to him their upcoming new mods for the Switch (patched, mariko and lite). Unfortunately, he didn't get any pictures, but he says they'll be coming later on. Even so, he shared some of this new information at MaxConsole, also shown below:
First Off: It is a hardware mod. TX went back to its roots, and this solution is a device you need to install inside your Switch. :)

From what we could tell the install looks ultra simple and almost plug and play. When pushed about the install requirements, TX held back from claiming its fully solder-less, stating clearly that this particular design will always benefit from a few simple solder connections, versus the original intent of fully solder-less (at least for the classic model which is the unit we got to inspect).

In other words, a fully solder-less install is potentially possible with the classic models however it is not recommended by TX due to long term reliability concerns (we will cover this more in-depth at a later date, once we have our preview unit in our hands and put it thru some tests)

Second Point: There is one device for Patched and Mariko unit which is probably under production (see point three) and should be available soon :) They plan to release 2 devices; one for all classic versions (original, patch and mariko) and one for the Switch Lite.

Third Point: I really pushed for a release date, but TX refused to confirm anything during our meeting. From what I understood, even though it seems to be currently under production, because all sorts of things can occur in the factory during production, they will not commit to a date to me or their resellers until they are certain they can deliver on time enough stock to meet the demand.

I guess I can only respect that, this is probably why they did not announce anything yet, and we should know more once it is finally officially announced on their TX website.
At some point ub3r1337 hopes to get some pictures and videos from TX and a review unit, but we have no clue when that will happen. For now we just have to sit and wait for some more news regarding these new TX hardware mods to appear online!

Managed to make CFW running on PS5 !!! Of course, I will not give any proof because that's not important at all, why would somebody want a proof? Just know that there is already a hack for the PS5 :yayps3:
And of course it's hardmod, that's why it needs to be in production for me to show it, it would be totally unprofessional to show a test proving that the whole thing works properly and is real. You will just see it when you will buy it :gba:

Only kids want proofs, just man up and buy the thing if you want to see that the PS5 is already being hacked :teach:

C'mon if this news apear from some unknown source I could have worries, but Xecuter was known for modchip solutions for years.

We see, but on old thread someone spotted post from some guy and stated that tx bought exploit from him... idk if it is true

Even if it was true, did he say that the exploit was for RCM that only needed to be deployed over USB?

The separate solution for Mariko and lite bit makes no sense at all. They are identical except board layout and features. Or they have too much money and think it's reasonable to make 2 different boards instead of using wires...

"They are identical except board layout "

BOARD LAYOUT yes indeed so it makes perfect sense then

most mod chips in later days of past scenes used QSB , acronym for Quick Solder Boards
different board system motherboard layout would mean a different QSB modchip shape /layout

That brings it to point two. Yes TX could be lying, its always a good idea to take things with a grain of salt. That being said however, TX's track record of real vs fake exploit/news tips very heavily in their favor thanks to them being in the scene since the xbox days...
plot twist ,TX now works for team Nintendo they just floated this rumor to get us to buy switch lite and markio for the holiday season

They have also jumped the gun in the past and claimed things that were wrong.

There are valid reasons to be cautious, especially considering this recent "proof" is that they have a mod chip running on old hardware, and not the new Mariko units that are actually the point of concern.

Absolute BS. When it comes to “insider info” Gary is probably the user I’d be most skeptical of.

Despite being in contact with the developers, we’re still waiting on that Gateway update he promised was coming SOON.

So now you know a time when Garyopa posted false info.

10 day old account, shill much? :creep:
I dont use this form much for obvious reasons

Good for them if they want to waste money i guess. Also most modchips of the past only needed one board because only one board layout for all console revisions.

So according to ub3r1337's quote in the OP, TX claims that the "one device for Patched and Mariko unit" is already under production. That means they already have a ready to ship product. Now we know that the Switch Lite is also Mariko, which means it shouldn't require a drastically different approach other than having to consider the smaller dimensions of the Lite.

So if this is true, then we might see a working Mariko exploit very soon.

the key phrase is EASY TO INSTALL
lots of optical drive circumvention chips were QSB boards and they had different ones for different drives

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i wonder how long the delay is going to be between the classic mariko solution and the lite chip

they claim before the end of the year , but i wonder if that is for the classic ipatched mariko units only and the switch lite will come next year , things would have to move really swiftly to make that deadline

such thread are a mess.
Some does post something funny but in general that just dogs barking at themselves, it make noise and does not contribute.

I get why peoples ask for proof but that not the main issue there.
The main issue is the teasing itself, such news should not be told and even more not be in front page Before actually solid progress this way no one complain and make pollution there

Now if that true cool for those that want such alternative.

I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
