So the current way I use is I used lockpick_rcm to get the keys and got them in the form of a prod.keys file, I then use this prod.keys file with 4nxci to convert xci to nsp.

However this method I believe codes just my keys and to be honest is prone to failure, for example it refused to do luigis mansion despite trying several times.

Is there an easier way, I believe I could use nsc_builder, but thus requires keys.txt file and I don't know how to acquire the keys in this format.

Or if there is another way, a more preferential way, please let me know

use this to repack xci to nsp it needs keys too

EDIT. rename prod.keys to keys.txt. make sure windows shows extensions
If it's as simple as just renaming that's perfect.

Thanks
Just get the nsp build of games.
Simply get the nsp version from google.
I download my games off private torrent trackers, directly from scene releases. After all the issues with people modding nsps to brick peoples consoles I'd rather play it safe (no pun intended)

There isn't always one. Many times the NSPs you find are XCI converts.

You can install them directly with ZeroTwoXCI.
BTW, keys.txt and prod.keys are the same file, just with different names.
Maybe you're missing the correct key for Luigi's Mansion to decrypt it. See what master key it needs with something like NX Game Info or Switch Backup Manager. And dump the keys from a 9.0+ NAND, or find a complete key dump online.

This is perfect advice, I think the last dump of keys I had (and use) are for 8.1.0, I shall dump the new keys (and make a new nand dump) when I next get a chance.

Thanks.

Luigi also works on 7.0.1. So 8.1.0 keys should be fine.

Yes but then you don’t have to mess with the conversion yourself.

Yeah but you also have no guarantee that the conversions are good. I'm playing a converted XCI of Ni No Kuni, because I couldn't find an eShop NSP of it. But sometimes it crashes randomly and I've seen corrupted textures a bunch of times. The crashes might have nothing to do with that at all but I'm sure those corrupted textures aren't normally like that, surely that would have been spotted before release.
