Hey everyone - I hope everyone is well.

First of all, I was new to the scene - literally two days - when I updated the Offical Firmware (9.0.0) on my CFW system.

After sheer terror ripped through my body as I clicked update while installing a game (reading isn't my strong point). Have lost the ability to CFW forever?

My system is the unpatched version so would it be possible to downgrade using a custom loader (checked the internet).

Or do I just have to sit tight and wait for the update? If there will ever be one.

Thanks,

JC

90DNS, it will block access to the Nintendo servers. Or AtlasNX DNSes. Or if you fall brave you can use Incognito.
So it doesn't happens again.

Yea but doesnt the switch have a non-fixable hardware exploit?
Yes, exactly. That's why no one is pushing out "DO NOT UPDATE EVER" threads. Since Nvidia messed up and Hekxyz manage to find a hole that makes them always able to extract the keys. That's why we got Sept from SciresM and the gang so they don't show big N how they get the keys.

That is the one good thing about that - fingers crossed it will be soon!

Can't you just downgrade using the NAND backup you made prior to hacking it?
I was thinking the exact same thing but this put me off:

The anti-downgrade code in CreateProcess was updated.
All system modules, and all web applets are now subject to anti-downgrade restrictions. Instead of using 1 as the minimum value, the minimum value is looked up from an array in .rodata on a per-module basis.
All current entries use 0x24000000 (9.0.0) as the minimum version.

CreateProcess does one thing, it creates a process.

This anti-downgrade update only affects you if you costumize the contents of your nand to downgrade specific sysmodules instead of the full nand.
It just prevents you from using FW 9.0.0 with sysmodules from for example 8.1.0 if they contain an unfixed exploit.

Normal CFW users are not affected by this change, only CFW developer and maybe future Mariko/patched unit exploits.

If you downgrade your full nand, then you also downgrade CreateProcess.
Note: i do not recommend to downgrade any nand if it's not emunand, because it can mess up system settings and other hardware, like the 9.0.0 updated joy con / gamecard firmware.
