Thanks so I understand the storage needs better, that explanation helped immensely. So if I go with AutoRCM and push Hekate payload, I can choose between Emunand or Stock w/CFW to maintain the eFuse count?

As I was going through it yesterday to prepare I noticed that I did have this device online when i was on OFW 4.1.0 but then took it offline and did all the CFW after that point, so if I go the Choidujour method, with a factory reset, are my logs suddenly cleared meaning they'll mismatch what's already been synced to Nintendo?

I could also just create the emunand, boot sysnand and just remove all the titles, updates, etc using GoldLeaf and then see about going online at that point. I know for certain I've had homebrew crashes though, but I thought creport kept those on the sd card?

I'd say my nand is very dirty, I've tried Reinx, Retroarch, no save hacking just backup and restores, so proceed with one of the wipe methods or try to tidy up and go back online after a manual cleanup? I've been self banned for so long I want to give it a shot but want to make sure I've put the odds in my favor (really kicking myself about not having that full backup, I did make one but it got lost somewhere along the months since I'd created it)
Yes

If you had any logs and clear them now, then yes you will create a mismatch.

Creport only keeps error logs on the SD card that were generated after creport was already running. If there were error logs created before you ever used creport, then they will stay stuck on the console.

Can you use the eShop on the Switch? Yes, just grabbed Tetris 99
Did you restore a clean hack-free NAND before going online? Not entirely. Screwed up by downgrading only boot0/1. Used matty's repair files before applying 8.1.0 through Chou

Can you login to Nintendo's website using your linked Nintendo Account? Yes
SX OS used? No
Used DevMenu? No
Installed any .NSP? Multiple
Did you connect to the Internet w/ any .NSP installed? Yes. Even updated via stock sysnand, burning fuses
Did you play any .NSP installed online? Not yet. Might be my death wish as info how to play online is scarce. If only for the reason it's probably impossible, this ain't no Pokemon game on a 3DS
Did you perform any CDN/Freeshop downloading with your own Switch's certificate? No.
Did you update your .XCI/.NSP games online? CFW/OFW/Both/N Have not booted any nsp's on stock as I read it would it say they're corrupted until picking a cfw option in hekate
Did you ever use ReiNX? No
Homebrew/non-SX CFW Used? Y/N (Specify any and all homebrew used/crashes/error codes) Atmosphere.
Connect to Internet with homebrew/non-SX OS CFW? Yes
Connect to eShop while using CFW/homebrew? No
AutoRCM? TX/Hekate/Both/N AutoRCM is on, using hekate to boot stock sysnand
Did you update your firmware using ChoiDujour or ChoiDujourNX? As part of the repair process. Fuses were burnt initially updating through Nintendo via cfw sysnand
Did you install the exFAT update offline? ??? Possibly, but maybe not. It apparently happened without my knowledge.
receive-lp1.dg.srv.nintendo.net blocked and/or "Don't Share Usage Information" ticked under "Other Settings"? No idea where "Other Settings" is on the Switch, but I turned off sharing my play data and such under friend settings before connecting to the eshop the first time.
Do you have eclct disabled (look for pm.kip under sysmodules/modules)? No idea.
Do you have creport enabled (look for a folder named 0100000000000036 under titles)? Can't check atm
What firmware(s) were you on when you cleared error logs prior to going online? Y: X.X.X/N Never cleared logs
Wi-Fi settings deleted in CFW? No
Console/Account Region(s) US/US
What device(s) do you use to send payloads with? Just a lappy
Do you enter RCM by bridging pins 9 & 10 together? No. 1 and 10.. I've found my tongue to be more reliable tho lol
If Banned, provide proof (video preferred)
Additional Comments:
......shouldn't I be banned?

Context on the tragedy I put this release-day Switch through :<

What are the chances of getting banned if you only do save-editing? I'm a Homebrew noob and I want to make my life easier in some games (e.g. level up some skills in Three Houses) and I want to know how likely it would be for my Switch / Account to get banned, even if I only insert "legal" edits.

Highly possible. And if you were to get banned, it would affect your console most likely as there are few to zero verified account bans.

Since we are talking about save editing, I'll share my experience.

Did you restore a clean hack-free NAND before going online? No

Can you login to Nintendo's website using your linked Nintendo Account? Yes
SX OS used? No
Used DevMenu? No
Installed any .NSP? No
Did you connect to the Internet w/ any .NSP installed? No
Did you play any .NSP installed online? No
Did you perform any CDN/Freeshop downloading with your own Switch's certificate? No

Connect to Internet with homebrew/non-SX OS CFW? Yes
Connect to eShop while using CFW/homebrew? No
AutoRCM? No, I use a dongle every time I want to boot into CFW
Did you update your firmware using ChoiDujour or ChoiDujourNX? No, always updated officially, all fuses burnt
Did you install the exFAT update offline? No
receive-lp1.dg.srv.nintendo.net blocked and/or "Don't Share Usage Information" ticked under "Other Settings"? Only "Don't Share Usage Information"
Do you have eclct disabled (look for pm.kip under sysmodules/modules)? Don't think so, can't check at the moment
Do you have creport enabled (look for a folder named 0100000000000036 under titles)? Don't think so, can't check at the moment
What firmware(s) were you on when you cleared error logs prior to going online? Y: X.X.X/N Never cleared logs
Wi-Fi settings deleted in CFW? No, but constantly using 90DNS when in CFW
Console/Account Region(s) EU/EU
What device(s) do you use to send payloads with? Win10 PC
Do you enter RCM by bridging pins 9 & 10 together? Yes
If Banned, provide proof (video preferred)
Additional Comments:

Always used legitimately bought carts or e-shop purchases, never installed any .NSP, emulator or similar.
Save edited and cheated the shit out of single player only games, never went online with edited save file. Caused multiple crashes with edited games.
I've stayed away from editing anything that is vaguely online focused (SSBU, Mario Kart 8, SM Maker), but edited games with an online mode (FE:3H) even if never connected.
Mostly play offline, only go online to download game updates and whatnot.

As of the beginning of August 2019, Nintendo seems to have begun distribution of temporary bans. While the duration, causes, and even how they differ from normal bans are presently unknown, the relevant error code is 2181-4008. Another possible error code is 2181-4017 according to this page. Lastly, 2124-4517 is also theorized to be another temporary ban error code because while Nintendo does not list it as such, people who have experienced the other error codes have seen 2124-4517. :arrow:Source

My switch has a temporary ban error code: 2181-4008, i like to know if it’s known how or why u get this temporary ban? And duration of it or how it can be removed?

The post you quoted literally says duration, causes, or how they differ from normal bans is unknown

I was hoping someone would have more update to date or personal experience to share, I saw in Nintendo forum post that a Nintendo rep told someone to ring customer service to discuss things further which I might try tomorrow

A user by the name of Gimzie already contacted them albeit via live chat and was also given a number to call but never called that number. Though I'm doubtful the call will reveal any additional information, you've got nothing to lose by trying.

Well I call Nintendo and long story short they told me the ban error code 2181-4008 is "Permanent" NOT "Temporary"

While that is an interesting change of face, it still doesn't change the fact someone was unbanned with that error code.

how long did it take?, they said it was became they could tell I modify my console in some way and of course that's true. I had backup my eshop titles and my account is still fine on my patched rev 2 switch so i m guessing it was just cfw being on it otherwise my account would have gone with it as well

EDIT. side note i traded in the switch to eb games. the guy at Nintendo offers me to send the console in and have a replacement sent back so eb games can just replace it. I manage to find a brand new switch on eBay and serial said its unpatched and possible 4.1.0 fw

I was going to get a preown from eb games but they cost the same as brand new ones on ebay so whats the point

If you read through the thread I linked, you will notice OP said she was unbanned after one night.

If the save file wasn't modified or touched in anyway, you shouldn't be banned for transferring it over. Otherwise you risk a ban if the save file has been compromised.
