I'm sorry, i dont know what these are
As asked before:

- how big is your HDD and the Partitions please ?
- if you first detect/init the HDD in Windows it asks (maybe) of use it as MBR or GPT Disk. You can check this in the Windows "Computer management" -> "Disk Management".
- and also asked before how many partitions and how they are formatted please ?

Thank you.:)

I have two partitions on one hdd, one with 4.99 GB and the main one is 293 GB and they are formated as FAT 32

well, when i first put my HDD in my pc i get a message that something is wrong with it and it suggests that i try to fix it, when i agreed, it started fixing it, but the progress bar was stuck in the same position.

also, where can i see if it is used as MBR or GPT?

That seems REALLY that your HDD has some troubles.:(

You can try CrystalDiskInfo for checking your HDD of errors.
https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/
(Left Button "Standard Edition").

Did you maybe also have a Programm for Partitioning for example like AOMEI Partition Assistent ?

also, where can i see if it is used as MBR or GPT?

Computer management:

Device-Manager-Tab-in-Computer-Management-Windowstep5-1.png

and there is STORAGE and Disk Managmeent.

You can RIGHT CLICK on DISK0 or DISK1 and there is an (maybe greyed out) Option "Convert to MBR" or "Convert to GPT".That option you have then the opposite is your HDD Partition Table Format.:)
There is a greyed out option of converting to GPT disk

also, CrystalDisk say that its status is : Causion

Then it is MBR.Thats ok.:)

Reallocated Sector Count = Number of used reserve sectors.
After ~12000 hours of use.:(
May I please ask how old is your HDD ?

Thank you.:)

as context, i bought the wii from ebay with a hard drive, i just had to homebrew it, so i dont know how old it is

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

caution means look out ( the drive is on the verge of dying) and why the report says TOSHIBA??

oh crap, i had no idea

both MBR and GPT are fine and detected by USBLoaderGX. though, I found a bug in GPT last week, anyone reading this : don't dump disc to GPT using USBloaderGX until next revision (1273).
do not try to "convert" the mode of your HDD, it could go wrong and you lose your data, while it's not the problem of the drive.
plus, if HBC see the drive then it's currently using MBR.

That's really strange that it's seen as Toshiba drive!
Maybe the device is really a Toshiba, and only the "packaging" is Werstern digital?

And, we still don't have any clue about partitions themselves. you could have screenshot your device management for example if you didn't know what to report.
but I just wanted to see which partition type you had, if the Wii games are on the first or second one, etc.
all you told me is you put your games on the partition you called (in windows) "wii hdd". very informative.

also, 12 000 hours is not that much.
I don't know if crystal disk mark it as "caution" just based on that, or on the error reports.
probably because of the reallocated sectors almost at 50? (or is it in %? it's a problem starting below 50%? ) 69 sector is not a lot then.
but what about current spin retry count above 100?
I don't think I understand how to read these info.

Thank you for your reply and your "report" on your troubles.
That is sad to hear that your HDD is faulty.
