I actually just recently replaced my left joycon rail for similar reasons. Very cheap and relatively easy to do. The left rail requires disassembling almost the entire system though unless you want to try and thread the ribbon cable.
Both my left joycon and switch rail had corroded pins. Not entirely sure why though.
I also bought a hori joycon to replace my dysfunctional one cuz I'm cheap and wanted a dpad.

I could probably clean the contacts on the joycon, but at this moment, too lazy to open up it up to get at the pins. :P

the ribbon cable is actually quite easy to slide into place, just unhook the battery cable, slide it under the board, and connect the cable, then re-insert the battery, this is also ensure you don't short anything out while installing it too

Dude that's awful.
Like they said above water and electronics don't get along well with each other. Careful not to damage your switch next time.
You're better off getting a jig on eBay or whenever else they sell them rather than make them yourself if you don't own the necessary prerequisite items to build the thing.

Jesus dude. If you wanted a free method, just bend the necessary pin over the other on the joycon. Mines been like that since the hack was released.

If you are not careful that can damage the Joy-Con.

Also the OP said he is doesn't have the patience

And he is 118 years old, his hands should shake like an earthquake. :P
