@mattytrog could you include a note for the samd update that a SD card is necessary? Seems stupidly obvious in hindsight, but I was struggling to do it because I forgot I temporarily removed my SD card!

Yep will add that.

If using the one from the OP(the SAMD21_Update.bin) an SD is not required.

An SD is only needed because the payload is written on the fly to a file.

@mattytrog Can the new Version of the Switchboot boot directly in a Payload as the old one did?
Yes sir.

Just place payload.bin on SD root.

I'm having a hard time getting the trinket to boot hekate. When I use Power & Vol+, the switch goes to RCM mode. I'm trying to get into the switch boot menu, but I haven't been able to with vol-/+ pressed.

Can only boot a payload through the tegrarcm tool.
Is there something that I'm missing?

EDIT:

I tried Fusee and it seems to be working like I thought it would... Not sure why the Switchboot UF2 file won't work though. It only boots to RCM.

It should work. I think its set up to dual-boot.

You can change this by getting into UF2 mode - use the payload in OP and drop the Perma-CFW part 1 file on there - THEN drop the part2 file on there.

Also, check your downloaded file sizes. They should be 512kb

I'm sticking with permaboot and fusee file. That is working fine now. The other option only sent the switch to RCM mode on boot. Not sure why.

BTW thanks for the fix!!

No worries.

As long as you flash both files, it should work. Redownload and try again.

During repair, I tried (pre-"release") version of Fusee and Switchboot. Worked fine using UF2 Dual-boot & Perma-cfw.

So, i just got my switchme wired up... LED turns on and everything... it kinda of just flickers constantly.. i tried pushing button twice while having my usb c-c cable plugged into computer... nothing happens... not sure how to get this up and working? maybe my two d+/- soldering wasnt good? i dont think thats it... also, i did the joycon strap... even with nothing on this flashed or anything, should i be able to hold the vol+ button and get into rcm mode? cause thats not working either... didnt know if that was again, bad soldering, or if something has to be written to the switchme first

will the LED act differently if in mode where it should connect to PC?
Depends what bootloader is flashed.

If it's got a switchboot pt1 bootloader (dual boot or perma) it should "breathe" when in uf2 mode.

You will only know it is working if you send the samd21 update payload and trying double pressing reset.

ok, but double pressing the switchme button while the switch on, and connected to PC should make it pop up somewhere right? do i need any special driver before hand? or any special software. or will it just pop up under My Computer like my SD card and such when i plug it in

Depends what firmware you have on the switch.

Newer firmware stops uf2 drive access from within horizon

This is a batch 1 switchme I just held onto for over a year or whatver lol. But don't have to use any Arduino software or whatever. Saw something about that posted somewhere... But should I try messing with it in rcm mode or something? All my connections look clean and right... And on newest system version of switch

You need the dual boot UF2(part 1) then flash your choice of part 2 - Switchboot or Fusee

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

To everyone who is bothered...

Switchboot Changelog: v1.4.1

  • Typos fixed. Some character spacing corrected.
  • Battery and fuel gauge options added - Be careful with them!
  • Screenshot feature added.
  • New screenshots no longer overwrite old ones (like in 1.3.x)
  • Refactoring of colours. Look in gfx/gfx.h to see how to change colours to your liking.
  • Changed to black and green colour scheme again. I like it.
  • Removed dump pkg1/2 option to make space. It isn`t really required in our implementation.
  • If booting with no SD card, upon attempting to launch, you will see a stock option to launch OFW. This is just a dupe of Reboot(normal).

Coming later today - making UF2s after tea.

Fusee-UF2: no changes
